You wont enjoy getting dusted by Ford Fusion's in your 320, I promise. |

I find the 320i only comes to life past 6k revs. With a remap it definitely feels a bit more peppy. The 320d is great in a straight line and has sufficient torque to haul 4 passengers and luggage like a 320i cannot. I have driven both and settled on the 320d. Economical and sufficiently nippy - especially between 30-70. With a remap the 320d does even better from 60-80.

Yeah no — you don’t know what your talking about. Same turbo ya dingus. Slightly dofferent pistons, but no less capable. Haven’t come across a 328 as fast as my 320. It puts car lengths on stock 35i as well. Forget ford fusions lol, what do you drive? I’m sure my 320s faster than that too. Come down to LA and I’ll dust your 328.

Jb4, catless downpipe, and larger FMIC, and the 320i might just be the best bang for the buck. If you’re gonna leave it stock go with the 328/320d. Nice and torquey out the box. |

Recommending someone buy a 320 over a 328 is absurd. Thats what this thread is about. Recommendation for the OP. |

And. Yes, a Ford Fusion EcoBoost has almost the same 0-60 time as a 320. Woops.

Both great cars tho (320/328). But tbh, if youre gonna leave it stock, forget the 328 and get a 330. Much more impressive stock. I had a 330 last year — it’s got a great grunt. But hey if you want to tune it (and you aren’t a dumbass ^) you have the option to get the 320 and use the money saved on a jb4 and dp. You will still be under the budget of the 328 and faster. Gotta love BMW for offering the 320i with the n20 engine same turbo as they put in all the f30s. FYI you can just edit your last post so we don’t have to look at your three posts in a row. And can the stock numbers comparison — your comparison is idiotic. If the stock 320 wasn’t detuned to seem slower, Bmw wouldn’t offer it as a lower price option, and those clever enough to exploit its true potential would be out of luck! If your wondering, my 320i is a 5 second 0-60 car. And can go faster than that with higher octane and different map settings. Looking at your build, it’s going to take some more bolt ons and the right tune to get on the level. Might want to change the timing chain first tho, those pre-2015 builds have been known to blow! After having a 528i, 320i, 330i, x1, and x5, out of the whole lot, I can say the 320i has the most exciting tuning benifits over stock. Last edited by BMWtight2me; 01-27-2018 at 10:04 PM.. |

So in 2014 the 320 had a different turbo and now it doesn't? Or are you actually doubting one of the most widely respected review company's around?
If you cant trust Consumer Reports, then Im not sure what to tell you. And for the record, I drive a 2014 328i and referenced this article prior to buying my car. |

Here, learn something: http://www.bimmerfest.com/news/67064...er-comparison/ “The next easy target is the intake, exhaust manifold and turbo. Surprisingly they turned out to be the same part number. In fact the 320i and the 328i share the exact same part numbers for a majority of the engine components.“ Last edited by BMWtight2me; 01-28-2018 at 08:35 AM.. |

I guess you're right. OP - get a 320, its the smartest decision. Just remember, dont test the soccer mom at the light next to you. Classy move taunting pre '15 owners about timing chain issues... Speaking of class. I can tell that you ooze it based on your little 320 hot rod from Los Angeles. Not everyone is building a race car on here bud. My car is actually paid for by my company and I use it as a tool to generate revenue. |
