After seeing that during just the first (barely) month of ownership I already have a small chip on the hood an the bumper, I am reassessing getting clear bra applied or not. ...sigh

I guess when I get M Performance front splitter Ill be having some paint touched up.

If u plan to keep the car for long time the yea, clear bra is worth it.

If you are leasing the car, nope. Except you are supposed to drive it like you stole it

I drove my car direct from Dealership... one night in my garage, then to the accutint place down the road for the XPEL clear bra and window tint install.

The XPEL for the half wrap (full hood, full fenders, headlights, mirror caps, door cups and edges, both pillars, leading area on roof and rear bumper top off) was $1200 (including 20% discount).

The only "seams" are on the leading area of the roof, otherwise the film transitions are not visible.

The only catch about XPEL is that it can never be machine washed... but most guys on this forum wash their cars with babies diapers.

I'm extremely happy with the tint and XPEL clear bra!

Would getting a clear bra now for m sport bumper cause installation issues for a future m performance front lip? Just curious of the film would have to be taken off and then reapplied after the lip install.

pain to wax. I would do it on the front bumper lowers but not on the hood. personal pref.

I havent waxed my car yet, but was fearing what it would be like to wax. The tint dealer said to use painter's tape over the interfaces to keep wax from getting pushed up in there.

But on closer inspection, if you get the whole hood and fenders, there is no interface as the film wraps around the panel. Therefore, I dont envision wax/buffing to be a problem with whole hood and fender treatment. Now the other places they applied it (like roof and door strips), there will be a wax/buff problem.

I think it depends on whether or not you mind installing the lip on top of the clear bra or if you want the lip installed first and have the clear bra cut around the lip. It'd be the same for someone who got the clear bra first and then decided to mount a front license plate... However, even though the film is very thin, I'm not sure how it would affect the fit if you did it over the clear bra.

It's a little tricky to wax. Just be careful around the edges and use very little (i mean VERY LITTLE) wax. A super thin layer of 100% carnauba wax works very well and comes off the edges very easy.

The one thing I was told was to NOT use carnauba based waxes (or soaps with carnauba in it) on my xpel. That'll cause it to begin to yellow.

Oh really? Hm I was told carnauba was ok because it doesn't have dyes in it. I haven't waxed mine yet so I'll do more research. Thanks!

I meant yellow carnauba. White is fine I think. I don't see the point to waxing a film however. I'd just stick with a non-waxed soap
