This is a great thread, and really should be stickied. Anyone know how to keep your presets "on" so that when you start turning the knob on the steering wheel you're on your presets and now on FM/Satellite?

I think you can only split screen on the widescreen pro-nav screen?

Was referring to the BMW widgets. I can get split screen just don't see the widgets.

That's a feature of the NBT Navigation.

Probably already mentioned but if you have fog lights they will light up depending on the direction you are turning. I had no idea they did this and thought something was messed up at first. Pretty neat

Car alternator self-excites according to amp needs, it will keep the battery at 100% charged and supply just the right amount of electricity for all vehicle functions. So without your vehicle sitting idle for months, you can safely assume that the battery is at 100%.

Hmm, there is a setting I'm sure as mine is always what I was on last. If i was listening to presets on the radio, they're there and it's on my last station, if i was on ipod it returns to that, and music library, etc.

Same here. If it is not holding it last setting after shutting the car down, that could be a code issue.

I know this has been discussed, but it is worth mentioning again. The two hooks in the trunk are fantastic for groceries.

I kept forgetting about them but used them today. Excellent.

The order guide shows it coming only with the Tech Package in the US.
However, reports are you get it in US with Premium Package with 328i and *may* be standard with 335i.
Mine has the extended display and I do not have the tech package. I do have premium and navigation options in a 328i Sportline, though. (I believe that gives me everything from the tech package except the HUD.)

Not sure without reading this looong thread whether anyone has noticed this. With the headlight switch kept in the auto mode, when pushing the unlock button, the rear driving lights and the front halo lights come on. This is a nice feature when parked at night at the mall, I can see where the car is from a distance away. This doesn't happen with the light switch left on manual on/off though.

I learned (again this morning) that in Sport+ the nannies like to kick in to stop wheel spin and slow you down when going full throttle from a stop. A nissan sentra almost took me because I was basically sitting still until the car hit 20mph, then all was right with the world.

I'm sure the all seasons didn't help.

Is there a trick to get the climate system to NOT turn on with the ignition?

Took my car in to the dealer yesterday for a rubbing noise. Asked them to recode the ASS and climate system to remember the last setting (which will do as you ask). Should have it back today.

I don't see any hooks in my trunk. Where are they? Can you post a picture?

We don't have the hooks on Canadian models.

Great thread! Now i know why i keep nearly stalling. Stupid brake is being applied. Might just be me but i don't think it's just when on an incline. 20 yrs of driving a stick and I'm stalling while showing the car to friends/family. Kinda embarrassing.

Regarding the sound volume indicator. I think it's absent because the car adjusts the volume based on cabin noise level...or maybe it's speed. I know my e46 did this. You really don't notice until you drive another car without this feature and find yourself adjusting the volume at every light. It's a nice feature that you may not know exists, which means it's doing its job because you shouldn't.

Edit: probably the same reason the dial isn't analog like most un-smart cars

Oh, those are for groceries? You can also hook them to your kid's diaper so they don't bounce around in the trunk.

He's in the UK, IIRC. And F30s in the UK get NBT Nav, since Nov 2012 production.
