Sorry to bring an old thread back. Did the paddles come with the steering or you just used your old ones?

I bought the F30 with ZF8 but without paddles - still haven't changed the wheel though

I'm not interested in most of the MODS that so many people seem to like, but I just installed an F20 M-Sport wheel in place of my F30 Sport wheel and I'm really pleased with it!

Now I just need to find out how to get the M3 full leather trim pieces! (dash, door sills, glove box, etc.)

http://www.schmiedmann.com/

It was ~ $568 including $26 shipping and a $13 fee for using credit card, and only took about 2 weeks to get to my doorstep.

I do not recommended the wire transfer payment option; I was going to since there is no fee, except your bank will charge you $20 on their end.

Just so I'm clear before I tackle this myself, the steps are:

1. Disconnect the battery, wait a while for the ECU to shut down.
2. Remove the airbag using the screwdriver technique.
3. Disconnect the black and white connectors (note position of the white one).
4. Remove the bolt holding on the steering wheel.
5. Swap the switchgear.
6. Bolt the new one back on.
7. Reconnect the black and white (tuck white back where it was, and push the airbag module back in place.
8. Then reconnect the battery.

Am I missing any steps? Any particular torque on the steering wheel bolt?
Hey guys, im doing my steering wheel seap now and im stuck at step 4

How on earth do i loosen that bolt?

I didn't use a torque setting on the bolt, I just made sure it was tight.

Just remember, if you have to turn the car back on (for whatever reason) with the airbag out you will get an error.

It is very easy to change the wheel but I found the most difficult step wass undoing the little clips for the switchblock wiring behind the airbag.

Good luck.

Are you using a socket wrench?

If you don't have an extension bar for the handle, try to find something else you can use to gain some leverage. For instance, find a socket that fits fairly snug over the handle and then any other handle/wrench you have that will fit into the socket. That should give you enough leverage to loosen the bolt.

That looks great! I thought about doing the swap to F30 M-Sport or M-Performance wheel, but ultimately keeping the same airbag seemed like a better option to me. Are you selling your original wheel/airbag or just keeping for resale with the car later?

I'm potentially selling my F30 soon now that I'm using a ZHP for daily driving. Definitely glad I kept stock parts to put back on, as the non-original items will actually sell better individually but wouldn't add any value to the car.

Here is the airbag module removed.
These pics were quite helpful. finally installed the paddles I've had lying around for 6 months. Between these pics and the master paddle install pdf, it took about an hour all in.

Glad they helped, one of the things that make the forums great.

I'm so glad I found this thread. This has been exactly what I've been looking for. Could someone just do a spot check to make sure I read the details correctly?

I have a 2016 340i with paddles on my steering wheel (Picture Below)

F20 Steering Wheel w/ Paddles (32307845878)
F20 M-Sport Trim (32307845876)

I got a little confused because pcbrew bought a no-paddle version steering wheel but then his pictures show a F20 steering wheel with paddles...

Yes, you can use it, because F30 M-Sport steering wheel and F20 M-Sport steering wheel have the same airbag.

Great news! Thank you.
Where can I see steering wheel part number? I have this pic but I can't seem to find part number there.

I just was searching where to find the part number on this wheel, but without success.
The one number on your picture is a VIN from a BMW 320D from 2013.
The part number for the M-Sport steering wheel should be 32307848338 without heating and 32307848339 with heating.

Hello everyone. I posted a month ago and I still haven't received any feedback from anyone. Would love to get some feedback before I drop some cash on a steering wheel that I probably won't be able to return if it's wrong lol.

Please describe something more exactly what you want to do. I see no question and have not yet understood it.

Attachment 1586845
32307845878 if you want Paddles, or 32307845877 if you don't care for them.

32307845876 is not required (unless you want the M logo) since you can reuse your current one. It may come with the wheel if you buy used.

These are hard to find used, so you may want to consider getting the F30 Msport wheel + airbag instead.
