I'm currently considering ordering one, what did you guys tell your dealer in order for him to put the order in? Also did you get any ETA as to when you might be taking delivery?

My CA seemed reluctant to try to investigate in regards to me ordering one. He said if it isn't live on the bmwusa website then they wouldn't be allowed to do it. I feel like he is lying though, or just a crappy CA..

Eric,
I saw "111" on the dealer's screen - that's how I confirmed it. You ought to call your CA for your peace of mind.

Congrats on getting your order in - on Memorial Day!!

Anyone else do some shopping/ordering this weekend??

Cool, thanks, I will do that tomorrow! I basically ordered through the phone because I'm in Austin until August so I couldn't sneak a peek at the screen haha

I placed the order last week on Monday (5/21) and I still do not have a production number. Nor do I have this "Status 111" that others have mentioned. What's going on?

I'd say there is a difference between a) "placing an order with a dealer", and b) "the dealer placing an order with BMW".

As of last Monday, I'm pretty sure orders could not be placed in the BMW system. I know because I was close to making a deal with a different dealer and the CA was going to be glad to "hold my order until the system opened."

I would suggest pressuring your dealer to get the order in immediately. Unless he can't because he doesn't have any more slots/allocations... In any case, I would push for more info. It's clear that people are getting orders in.

Talked with my sales guy last night...

They have been informed of the 328 xdrive allocations as of right now. Bigger dealers have had 335 xdrive allocations already. He has been in contact with with these dealers about possible trades for pipeline position and with headquarters about fast lining a 335 m xdrive for me because of my lease situation (extended 3 months). He said he should have one in the pipeline by next week (obviously a month or so away from production). He was happy to inform me that as of right now he is close to locking up one of the first ones to hit the states. Makes you appreciate people that can do their jobs correctly!

I'm sure that those of you that are doing dealership delivery will beat those of us doing Performance Center Delivery in SC.
