2013 Porsche Boxster vs. 2013 BMW 335i - which would you get?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com EDIT: Suppose they were the same price and you were doing a single-pay lease (the entire lease balance up-front) and you could afford the 335i for 30 months or the Boxster for only 24 months: which would you choose? Note: before I added the above question following "EDIT," the poll was at 8 for Boxster and 6 for 335i Last edited by BMWCali; 10-09-2012 at 04:33 PM.. |

If I didn't need a back seat, Boxster S all day long, or a good, clean used Boxster Spyder from the last generation. Bear in mind that even a base Boxster will end up being significantly more expensive than a loaded 335i though.

Not a fan of the Boxster. If you had said Cayman I would have voted otherwise

apples and oranges. Sport sedan vs. designed from the ground up SPORTS CAR.
New Boxster is gorgeous and drives great. If you need more than 2 seats, forget the Boxster AND you will also need a another 30K if you want a nicely equipped Boxster S. The new Boxster w/ DCT I test drove listed in the low 80s. Buy a lighlty used 911 and get a back seat ( marginal at best). Or the BMW and a used Boxster S for fun if you want to spend 80K. |

Assuming you don't need a back seat, there's no comparison and it's not really a fair comparison. I've driven both and have history owning both brands. Porsche hands down. Even with the monthly lease differential 24 vs 30.

Does the Porsche really handle THAT much better than the BMW 3?

i picked the F30 because i thought too much with my head..
but if i were to follow my heart... i would have picked the Boxster/Cayman. Honest !! One day the Boxster will be mine, one day ...

I've driven the boxter. Amazing car if you like world class handling, fun and fast.
Money isn't the thing and back seats in driveway ornaments are for used water bottles. But I'm buying a 335 M Sport. Three reasons, no particular order: 1. Be honest. The Beamer looks better... 2. Comfort. Don't laugh. I'm thinking Princess and the pea here. I'll do a few long distance drives, like NYC to Boca or Chicago each year. 3. Gestalt. Love the entire F30 335 package. Feel, looks, ride, weight, seating, visibility, roar, and smell of that vinyl (getting most options sans leather). Opinions differ... |

I've driven both F30's. I think the 2L is a better balanced car. But the 3.5L sound is too sweet to pass up and would take it over the 2L. I just got done with the Porsche World Show. The new lines are amazing. Drive the Porsche, I don't think you would question the choice. Styling is individual but that in itself should sell you. My personal preference is Porsche.

If the cost and 4 doors aren't a factor then it's Porsche all the way!
