No doubt a 5-series is a much nicer interior. But a $60k 5-series drives a lot different than a $60k 335i/435i.

If anything, my alternative was a new M3.

I personally love the way the new 4 looks, but I admit, I have some reservations. I hope they all go away when I see it with my own eyes!
I hope you've driven one. New regular 4 series isn't as appealing as what I expected it to be. Perhaps, M4 is the way to go. If I had to choose, I'd choose F30 over F32 non-M's.

i would kill for a 60k 435i
Isn't part of the reason they are including some form of a VAT in that? Don't worry, we are headed towards Marxist socialism as fast as the bureaucrats can create and write them.

Can I get a confirmation? From the configurator, it appears that you CANNOT chose "no line" but you must take a sunroof, regardless of what you'd prefer.

Am I reading this right?

Why is the M-sport brakes option not working? Must be a glitch in the configurator.

Lets see what the m4 has to offer. Anyone have official weight figures for the 435?

Why I don't like the 4 series anymore

It's the rear. It looks bloated like a Hyundi or a Mitsubishi. I'l have an F30 instead because its tail is more sculpted and lean.

Agree?

I just love those Bimmerang gills! Finally a bit that's not just a cosmetic embellishment but functional part as well, venting the turbulent air from the front wheelarches.

Garage List
57755 for a fully loaded 435 M sport without the Cold weather package.
Another 20k (ball figure) or so will get you an M4.

I can configure a M3 the way I like (no over priced nav) for just under 70K.

I've been waitng for the M4 but if they want much more than that just because they renamed it, I won't wait, I'm going to a Caymen S. I don't need 4 seats. I can get a nice Caymen S for around 80K. Much more of a sports car. I'm more into handling then outright horsepower.

It's a shame, I consider myself a BMW type.

Go look at the navi package again...it gives you all of that stuff...besides the heads up display

HUD is incredible, and I'll never get a car without it again. I test drove some 5 series, and the first one had no HUD. The first thing I noticed when I got in the car was "where's the HUD, how fast am I going?" The second car (535i) had HUD, but no Speed Limit Info. As I cruised out of the dealership, I kept wondering "what is the speed limit around here", because I wanted to push it a bit.

You never know how much you miss something until you try/have it for a week or so.

Configured as closely as possible to my M3, I'm a hair under 60k. My June '12 M is a bit over 75k MSRP now. I don't think the 4 series prices are absurd.

It is a bit put-offing to not include basic things like leather as standard. The base interior is incredibly tawdry.

I'm not looking at the bmwusa.com configurator as it is messed up. I'm looking at the official ordering guide in PDF. It shows the 704 suspension only available with the M-Sport and the Sport Line.

The Coupe no longer represent sport by default as before.
