M Sport Production Delay

My son has a 330e on order. The car was scheduled for production this week. He checked with the genius yesterday evening and was informed the production date has been put back to early January and they could not say why.

Today he has been on to the dealer and they have come back and said there is a manufacturing issue with all M Sport models at the factory but they had no more information. Does anybody know what is causing the delay?

Quite a few new orders have been subject to delays including mine, I was informed mine was down to a shortage in b58 engines and Adaptive LED's

My dealer informed me of these delays back in July:

So far I've had a delay due to the model line up revisions (shadow edition being introduced), M Sport model delays, B58 engine delays and the latest is another delay on the extended leather dashboards. One more delay and I'll seriously be considering my options

Also an MSport wheel shortage (as in steering wheel).

My 440i GC is still showing as build week 48 delivery week 51

Update

My son has had an update and his car is now scheduled for production next week with delivery to the dealer w/c 10th December.

BMW must have sorted their supply problems.
