Tire Rotation

Hi everyone, I've driven my car for about 10k miles every since I got it and have not rotated the tires. How often is it recommended to rotate run flat tires?

Thanks!

It depends on the model. Some cars have staggered width tires so you're not supposed to rotate those.

Now would be good. I go about 5k
I think anywhere in the 5k to 10k range is decent tire maintenance. My 328 XDrive wears very evenly, I am impressed.

I have a 2013 F30 with 60k miles. How can I find out if it has staggered with tires?

Uh, go out and look at the tire sizes? Staggered means that the rears are wider than the fronts.

Every 10k miles max; more than that is basically useless as tires will start to wear in to their positions and cause excessive noise and vibration once rotated.

So do them now.

Should be done at every service interval.

All tires are the same, so I'll go ahead and rotate them tomorrow...

Thanks everyone!

I'm guessing this is the pattern that needs to be followed, just want to double check.

Thanks

I'm wondering the same thing? And would it be different for XDrive models?

If your tires are non-directional tires (most likely) then follow that pattern.

If they are directional, they'll have the word "Rotation" and an arrow pointing in the direction the tire is designed to function. Don't swap these to the other side of the car.

As long as you are not rotating in a circle you should be fine. basically wheels should be rotated in pairs, so both rear wheels go the same direction and both front wheels go the same direction. It'll be the same for x-drive.

i usually do a lazy man's version since crossing wheels is difficult with a jack and stands. so i rotate front to rear for one change, then left to right the next change. if you have staggered wheels then you should only rotate left to right.
