Custom style 189s on F31
Disclaimer - I am not a professional photographer, and I know my car is dirty. It's a full time job to do that in Chicago you know.
I test fit my old custom powder coated 189s on my F31 today to see how they'd work for winter tires. The wheel gaps are horrendous as they still have E90 sized tires. That said, I think I might need to run these as my summers. Never was a big fan of the 400m's. So if anyone was curious, yes E90 wheels fit on F30s. No problems with bolts or offsets. The thicker M14s fit fine. I'm sure this has been cover somewhere else but whatever. Another duplicate. End rambling. Here's the pic. |

The 189s look great! IIRC the issue with the wheels was a difference in hub diameter. Not experiencing any wobble?

e90 wheels do fit the f30 but the tires are shorter, yes. I am currently running my VMR wheels i had on my e90 for winters. There is no difference with the hub size. it mostly comes down to offset as the f30 does not allow for aggressive offsets like the e9x did.

Thanks everyone. Actually think they look better on my Wagon than they did on the Sedan. I haven't driven but 30ft to get out of my garage and take a photo so I don't know anything about wobble. From what I have read the only major change other than offset was bolt size from M12 on the E90 to M14 on the F30.

Everything is the same except the bolts that are used on E90s are different (shorter and skinnier(?)). Hub diameter is the same. I'm running some cheap-o 17" E90 wheels on my F30 for long distance trips to save on having to buy 19" tires every year..

Agreed, they definitely look better than the 400Ms. And I think it looks pretty good with those...

Shorter tires won't be an issue. Those are being removed as we speak. Discount tire shockingly is crediting me $50 a tire for them towards some Michelin X-Ice XI3. Tires from the 400m are being swapped over to the 189s. Won't complain about having 400m wheels as my winter beaters. |
