I don't really know what you expect. 285's on a regular 3er is pretty wide already.

Lol, it is not a stretched tire. It is the recommended rim size for this width. It is just the design of the Pirelli's in this low profile that make it look like that. Look at this picture of a 375/20R21.

<---- ran 285's on an SSR 18x10 and had less stretch

I think it looks odd because the rear tire is a 1/2" shorter than stock OD.

20" is a very big wheel for this car. The OEM fitment looks like rubber bands and you've gone shorter still, and MUCH wider with a massive wheel.

If you don't think it looks odd, well, so be it. This is certainly an "aggressive" fitment from HRE not meant for handling or performance but for looks.

And the reason my wheels are "weaker" in the rear is that the offset you have didn't fit.

I believe Long has tinted brush on his, and here's a couple of pics with the two cars in the same picture. I don't know if it's two different finishes, but they look very similar.

Exactly!

I have the exact same size as this and it's pretty good so far. I lowered my car on H&R Sports and so far so good!

No stretched tire at all...

285's are great. just needs to be the right OD and not stretched on a 10.5. I had 275's on a 9" wheel and it was a fairly square sidewall.

I think the M-sport brakes will be enough once I change the rotors.

Ask Lon@HRE!
And $4k will get you the front wheels...

Thanks, I've had expensive wheels before from your competitors but these wheels are in a league of their own. Amazing finish and incredibly light!
$8K? What the actual fuck? I mean, they are nice and all...but...

I know.

I contacted Lon and he didn't quote $8K but very close to it.

The things is, these wheels are manufactured completely different to the way others are; forged.

Highest quality possible!! Lon emailed me this link which shows their manufacturing process: very cool. You guys should YouTube it.

Does the highest quality really matter when you're running a rubber band on them and using them only for the looks?

I'm running them because they are light. I've had heavy wheels before and they really screw up the handling and comfort of the car. The added bonus is that they look awesome. And yes they cost a lot, but when you look at the finish on the end product they are actually worth it.

And some of you guys make it sound like they are useless. They weight less than stock wheels and I have more rubber in contact with the ground. The sidewall is a few mm shorter than what BMW offers so no big deal.

Ah, that explains the confusion.

I don't know what OD means. But 285's are the recommended tire size for this width. As I've said numerous times it is just the design of the Pirellis. Look at this 285 tire on a 10.5" rim.

I paid $11k incl. taxes, shipping and tires. But the wheel/tire package alone will be around $8k in this size and finish in the US.
