Power Outlets

I should have checked this out when I test drove, but do the F30s have any additional power outlets other than the one inside the armrest?

Is there another up near the cupholders?

There are four, not counting the USB port. One in the "ashtray", one below the glove box, one in the console in the back seat and one in the trunk.

Manual says there's another one under the glove box but I haven't found it yet.

Left hand side of passenger foot well, under glove box, very close to center console.

There is not a cap for it like the other sockets. I had an extra cap I put in it...makes it easier for me to find it by touch.

Aren't the number of outlets dependent on packages chosen?

Possibly... I do not think so for US, though.

I just have one in the centre console.

Seems you need 493 Extended Storage to get the others (in the UK at least).

That's a bit disappointing to say the least. Shipping a "Hi Tech" car in this day and age, with one power outlet is ridiculous. I have had my 5 series for nearly 5 years - it's a basic SE model and it has at least 3 power outlets (that I can immediately think of).

There is also one under the front glove box for the UK at least, but yes it is ridiculous not having any others. One in the boot/trunk is handy for cool boxes.

Never having used more than one, and this prior to hard wiring a radar detector, for what does one routinely use multiple power take-offs?

Yeah! Just found it. I have put a socket plug in it so hopefully I can find it more easily.

Three I can think of: portable sat nav, rear mounted DVD player for the kids, additional phone charging socket.

The availability of power sockets is depending on the accessoiries you ordered. In NL for instance you pay € 11 for the socket below the glove box...
