No lock confirmation chirps without alarm?

When I ordered by car I purposely didn't select the anti-theft alarm. No body really pays attention to those anymore and I find them pretty annoying. However, i would have assumed that you still get a chirp when you lock or unlock the doors. Is this not the case on a 328? I like having that confirmation to tell me that I really locked the doors.

It's under the settings in iDrive.

I don't think you can change audible notification, just visual.

Oh yea. Hmm. I'll have to look but my car can beep. My loaned X4 beeped when locked.

Beep usually confirms alarm is set doesn't it? You can hear locks .

If you do not have an alarm then there is no audio cue the doors have been locked. Instead you will have the option of a visual cue - i.e., lights will flash when locking or unlocking the doors. These options, as others have said, can be found in the settings menu of your iDrive.

You'll have to force yourself into the habit of looking at the car to see the lights flash or listen for the inevitable 'locking the doors sound'.

You can look at the turn signal light in the mirror, it flashes when the car locks. It is easy because it is with in eyes view when you close your door and lock the car either with the fob or comfort access (touching the door handle)
