Hi nWinter.

I'm also looking for an H7 LED with decent output. Keep us posted. I just installed the DEPOs, car finally looks like a real BMW. Loving the lights.

I've had them in with retrofit source hid kit for about 7 months and the lights have been spectacular. Love the look of the angel eyes and the light output is much better than stock halogen. I highly recommend this mod

Just got these installed over the weekend and they're gorgeous!

Like most I'm wanting to upgrade to HIDS - are Morimoto Elites still the best way to go? 4500 or 5500?

I'm thinking of waiting 6 months first and sticking with Halogens so that I don't void the warranty - in case anything goes wrong with the headlights.

Any recommendations for low beams? I believe Diamond Visions / GP Thunder 5800k are most popular for imitating the xenon look, but I've read that their visibility is bad.. do projectors help at all? Otherwise it's Nightbreakers w/ Laser or Xtreme-Vision. I'm really trying to avoid the piss yellow look though

I read through the first 20 pages and gave up...

So what's the final word on these a year later? Have all the bugs been worked out? Everybody's still working? I'd love to upgrade.

Thanks

@CDJohn1223 , @yfaney

Yes they are working nicely and all issues have been corrected now .

H7 - philips Diamond vision seems to the choice
HID - Morrimot's kit seems to be the choice .

You guys are correct , it needs to be pinned now at the start .

Good to know!

That one right? Having a hard time deciding on 4500 vs 5500.. don't suppose anyone has pictures of both? Any idea which would match the DLRs more?

5500 will match the halo's more. 4500 has a slight yellow. Do NOT get the 50W

Nice

edit: Actually meant to ask difference between x35 and x50s lol. Will the 50W fry the headlights?

I have the 4500k and I think I'm going to change them to the 5500k. I was most concerned with getting the most lumen output and the closest to OEM, but I think I'll spend the $40 or whatever it is to try out the 5500k. I agree with atam1980 don't get the 50W, the 35W are plenty bright and won't melt your wires/housings

In the short run, the 50 watt will be slightly brighter, but over time the beam will burn a bubble into the projector lens and plastic headlight lens cover. You can't buff out a burn bubble. Ask me how I know.

Mine are Morimoto projectors so I can't imagine the lesser quality projectors in the Depo headlights will fare any better.

I've had both and stuck with the 5500k. I still have the 4500k in my projector fogs and the fogs have a very obvious yellow tint compared to the headlights. I think you'll be happy with the 5500k. It maintains the OEM look and the lumens difference is negligible.

How's the plastic on the outside of the lens held up after a year? Pitting issues? Cracking? Sun fading? If anyone can give some feedback on that.
