G30 Led Fog Light Bar Retrofit

Has anyone attempted to retrofit the G30 (and most likely G20) LED Fog Light Bar on a F3x?

After watching a DIY install video of these on the actual car they were made for - I'm gonna say this would be a highly custom retrofit as the mounting points are all molded into plastic support behind bumper cover - and of course they are angled.

You would need to fabricate custom brackets to attach to F3x support to align these perfectly from outside, grilles would need to be cut to allow the lights to poke thru, etc.

Of course, wiring would also need to be figured out

Not saying it couldn't be done - just not simple...

The ones you posted arrive perfect.

Now to see if they can fit the F80 replica bumper grill.

Can you give details on the wiring, I also have the original fog lights that I will be removing.

I suppose they can just be used as fog lights using the original On/Off switch?

Thanks in advance

These are DRL, not fog lights.

Beam width and purpose.

Narrow for fog. Broad for DRL, which are primarily for safety (to be seen).

I always considered these, and the lights installed from factory to really be Driving Lights (even though we all refer to them as fog lights)

Tru Fog Lights have different lenses for dispersion & yellow bulbs to cut thru fog instead of reflecting back at driver

Yellow color is myth.

Google it.

Any color low to ground and narrow beam works equally as well.

+1 on these being driving lights. With stock halogens, I would say the "fogs" add about 35-40% more light on the road, and I couldn't imagine driving without them...

Just use the grills without the fog lamp holes.

Use the existing fog lamp wiring, splice into it to take power for each side.

Curious...If I have M-sport bumper without fog lights, is it safe to assume I DO NOT have existing wiring that's just hiding up there somewhere?

I would think it wasn't there altogether, splice into something else, DRLs, low beam, parking lights etc, it'll still look good.
