I'm busy seeing the world and experiencing new things before I settle down and buy a house. I knew that it would be much more fun to drive a Lotus at 25 than it would at 45 so I bought the car. I have never regretted that decision. Life is too short to always do what is financially responsible. Also, had I bought a house in 2005 when I bought the car, I would have lost much MUCH more money than the total cost of the car. In many ways, the car saved me from one of the biggest financial blunders of my life.

Some of the happiest people I know don't have much more than a pot to piss in and a window to throw it out of.
The are very comfortable with where they are and who they are. |

this thread is comical.
back in your parent's day, it was a life goal to own a home. it was instilled in their mindset by their parents. they worked hard, slaving day in and day out just to say they owned the roof over their head. it's 2010. wake up and realize owning a home is not a status symbol of any sort, nor is it even priority for a majority of 20somethings. i live in boston, by no means a cheap city. when you have 2 of the most prestigious schools in the world in your zipcode, and some of the leading industry leaders a few train stops away, you're going to pay. plan on making 100k+ to get a nice apartment in boston. that's a nice apartment, the same way the bmw is a nice car. neither of them great. |

i agree on this...it is no longer a status symbol. Some people just have different priorities and goals. I would rather enjoy my earnings for a bit (traveling) before getting settled in owning a house.

I am under 30 and do not know where I am mulling where I want to work... so I do not want to buy a house FFS. I do know that I would like to have a nice car when I can afford it and enjoy it. I am not stretching my budget at all and my parents don't even say anything about paying them rent or other expenses. It may not sound like much, but as a result, I do clean the house and do almost any errands i can do for them, such as groceries or taking our dogs to the vets.
My friends know what they want to do so they already plan or bought their condos/houses already. They do not drive nice cars as a result, but they don't care.

You have an excellent looking E92. Can I ask how much your BMW performance suspension was installed? Looks sick with the 313s...very clean. |

All of these threads are always the same. If it's a thread about how girly AW is, everyone with AW defends how manly it is.
If it's a thread about how slow the 328 is, every 328 owner qualifies their reasoning for buying a 328 over a 335. If it's a thread about leasing vs. buying, every cash buyer says how stupid it is to lease, and everyone who leases says how they want to hold on to their money and invest it. I'm a house person, could never live with someone stomping above me, or sharing walls.

i think everyone is missing the OPs point here. what he's trying to say is, does it make sense to attract the pussy with your bimmer if you have to take her home to a trailer park. at least that's what i think that's what he meant. |
