BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
The Alpina B3 S and B4 S Bi-Turbo based on the LCI version of F30/F31/F32/F33 is out. It's still N55 based with twinscroll replaced by two separated turbos.
Top speed is 298-306 kmh according to model.
Alpina B3 S Bi-Turbo saloon has 0-100 kmh in 4.3 s (4.0 s with xDrive)
Alpina B3 S Bi-Turbo touring has 0-100 kmh in 4.3 s (4.1 s with xDrive)
Alpina B4 S Bi-Turbo coupe has 0-100 kmh in 4.2 s (3.9 s with xDrive)
Alpina B4 S Bi-Turbo convertible has 0-100 kmh in 4.3 s (xDrive not available)

Quote:
The revised straight-six 3.0 litre engine now delivers even more power and ensures thrilling performance. If requested, impressive 324 kW (440 PS) and a maxmium torque of 660 Nm at 3.000 U/min are available – In fact 600 Nm of torque is available across a wide range between 2000 rpm and 5000 rpm. Coupled to the excellent ZF 8-Speed Sport-Automatic Transmission it propels the BMW ALPINA B3 S Bi-Turbo in just 4.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and on to a top speed of 306 km/h for the Saloon respectively 303 km/h for the Touring. BMW Efficient Dynamics technologies such as Auto Start Stop and Sailing contribute to an exemplary fuel consumption of only 7.9 - 8.1 l/100 km and 180 - 185 g/km CO2 combined measured to ECE norm.

Wow - B3 S has 440HP and 487LB-FT Torque, and has a mechanical LSD. AWD configuration claims 4.0 sec 0-100km/h in the technical data tab. Impressive.

Looks beautiful inside and out.

Pricing guide says base price is 61k euros for the B3 S saloon which is about $64k US.

LSD is ~$2k. Throw in Nav, sunroof and a few other (necessary) options and you'll add another $5k.

Easily going over $70k. Now you're at M3 money. Hmmm.

Guess I'm in the minority but I don't think the sedan version looks that great but the touring looks better. So these don't have the new B58 engine?

I have always been an Alpina fan, but this B4s is unbelievably beautiful. I would sell everything I own to have one of these. Why, BMWNA, why can't we have these in the United States?

I just wish they used the M sport steering wheel instead. I hate those stock wheels

Some will argue the B3 is a more sophisticated car than the M3, the numbers are always humble as well. And it´s a more special and seldom car. I´d opt for the ACS B3 any day, more comfort and more low key, just a more unique package.

So you can get a twin turbo N55 that makes similar to tuned b58 stock power in an overpriced new 3 series with an alpina badge? nice.

In the Motor Trend Head to Head where they matched the Alpina B6 against the M6, they preferred the Alpina for its refinements and everyday driveability. In a drag race, it beat the M6 off the line, but lost to it in a rolling start. The M6 was the winner on the track by 2 point something seconds.

It may be approaching M3 / M4 money, but if its performance is anywhere close to M3/M4 then I think it's worth it.

For the same money, I would take this over the M3. I am sure the M3 is a superior track weapon, but this Alpina is a far superior car as a daily driver, especially for me who value all wheel drive during our sometimes brutal Canadian winters

Too much competition and too costly to ship/certify.
