1000 miles?

Hi all I'm currently on 883 miles and not yet gone above 4000 rpm, so as you'd expect I'm eager to unleash the beast but do you think 1000 miles ie enough or should I go for 1500??

Vary the revs and drive it now like you want to during your future of ownership.

Unleash it.... unless your idea of unleashing it is cruising at 7k rpm...

Just picked up my 335 m sport today. My sales rep said break in is 500 miles (he said 1200 is for M3).

I think I like the sound of that better!

OC40....the break in is over rated. These new cars don't need this. 500 miles is plenty and then unleash the beast.

You get the Opti Coat?? Have fun with your new F30...

Why not? What a waste of driving time. Just go for it. So many of us have gone over 4000 without any issues well before the so called break in distance.

No need to go over 4k from every standing start, but vary it now. You have a great engine, use it!
