Both my 435i and my 440i had "standard" M Sport suspension, not adaptive.

Bit of history ... I had a 325i M Sport Coupe, with 19" wheels and elastic bands for tyres - cornering was amazing, like being on rails, ride was atrocious (I don't think it was designed for run flats). After 3 years I was sick of it. Then I moved to a 330i M Sport Coupe with 18" wheels and a bit more rubber - big improvement in ride comfort, handling not quite as good. Then a 435i M Sport Coupe with 19" wheels. The ride wasn't really hard, but I found it very lively on country roads, hard to describe, kind of bobbling around too much, jittery. It could get quite tiring after an hour or so. To be fair, after a couple of years I had either got used to it, or it had softened.

The 440i M Sport is absolutely superb - it just feels like so much more quality all round. The ride is firm but very comfortable - it absorbs hits from potholes etc extremely well. To be honest, I cannot think of any "tweak" I would want to apply to change the ride in any way. It still doesn't go round corners quite like my 325i did, but my fillings will last a lot longer this time.

always find It strange when people say "who specs a 335i without pro-nav or whatever" .

Maybe , just maybe, they had a budget and decided to spend the budget on the engine rather than the nav system. If anything this should be applauded!
