Presumably this is entirely euphemism.

robwils and a couple of others have asked about the tablet I've fitted.
Really simple mod and if you are a bit of a geek like me, it offers you a few more things to fiddle with and control. 1. Tablet is a cheap £70 Bush Spira B2 Android 6 tablet from Argos. 2. Tidy cabling behind it (using a 90 degree connector from Maplin) and runs to a dual USB charger under the glove box. The other USB charging slot is used by the Wifi transmitter/receiver for the camera I've fitted under the front number plate to keep an eye on my CF splitter and save it from kerbs and speed bumps. 3. Software; Carhome Ultra runs the main interface and from within that, you can put any app shortcuts on it. 4. I have a bluetooth OBD II Elm 327 and run the DashCommand app from that (as well as Torque Pro). Carhome Ultra is very good (couple of quid from Play Store) and it allows you to control a lot of the tablets functions such as screen off when not connected to power, night mode where you can fine tune the skin for it. I have my night setting the same colour as the BMW red/orange lighting. Bluetooth/Wifi on/off when it starts up and have it auto start on power up. Nice clean interface with big function buttons. WifiAV splitter cam. I was worried that the front PDC wouldnt pick up kerbs that would potentially trash my front splitter so decided to come up with a solution. I got a little CCD camera and Wifi transmitter from Amazon (links at the bottom) and hard wired the camera through the steering wheel rubber housing to the Wifi box and placed a switch in between. The reason I used the Wifi transmitter means I can view the camera image on either my phone or the tablet via the wifi app. Works really well and is simplicity itself with the app shortcut on Carhome Ultra. Dashcommand. Very good app and delivers pretty much every PiD the OBD pushes out. I've played around with a few pages on the app to come up with what I think is useful info on each page. It allows you to log everything too so you can play back either on the tablet or email the log to desktop and play it back on Scan XL software. I have the tablets wifi set so it automatically connects to the splitter cam WifiAV app and if I want to utilise 4g on the tablet (Google maps/street view etc), I have my Android phone set as a tether and it connects to that. My car network is a bit of a nightmare. Phone auto-connects to car bluetooth, Tablet auto-connects to splitter cam wifi, bluetooth auto connects to OBD ELM327 but I can switch the wifi to phone wifi for full 4g... 'Splitter Cam' WifiAV box with switch tucked under trim just in front of it. Carhome Ultra interface Night mode Splitter cam view. The green marker equates to approx 10 inches. The CF splitter can be seen at the bottom of the screen. Camera has a 170 degree FoV. Dashcommand OBD app. I've customised the gauges as follows; Top L>R BHP, Tq (Nm), RPM. The digital figures in green below are max values of the above with the white digital numbers being actual figures in the gauge. Bottom L>R; Coolant temp C, speed, boost, Intake temp. The photo is whilst I'm replaying a previous log file. Page 2. Three Accelerometers along the top again with the green digital numbers being max values for that log run. Bottom; 0-60 time (scaled to 0-10 seconds), Best ET (4.260 secs!) (with speed analogue gauge), instant MPG, Outside air temp. Graph view. Left graph combines BHP, Torque and load power (%) and the right graph is RPM. Numbers along the bottom are as above but with speed readout second from right. And finally, fitting method. I got a second hand centre trim piece from EBay and modified it to take a couple of brackets. These hold a pair of magnetic clipped holders that magnetically attach to a metal plate I've affixed to the back of the tablet. The Lego struts are to keep it all firm and brace it so it is solid when mounted. Removing the tablet can be done by either removing it from the magnetic mounts or (as its easier), just removing the whole trim piece. Camera. Amazon WifiAV transmitter Carhome Ultra Dashcommand I'm a bit OCD when it comes to fitting cables and stuff and this is a very clean install. The tablet is very useful as I can almost have a 'differential GPS' solution. Using the normal BMW RTTI sat nav as well as running Google maps to give a slightly different route. OBD info is useful and good fun and the camera has saved my splitter on numerous occasions. Apart from that, it looks cool |

Lol not at all mate. Its a very simple mod. Just took a little bit of time thinking it through to get it to all work how I wanted it to.
Next mods; Fully head tracked augmented reality projected in to my specs and a nano drone launched from a secret compartment under the BMW badge with a 4k camera to assist in parking and to check the traffic ahead (You think I'm joking...... ) |

How's the wheel doing Mr.Helmet?
My incoming 2 series doesn't have a temperature gauge, so thought this might be a good addition. I have heard of times it doesn't display the revs, revs = 0, which needs a restart to get it to communicate? And you need to press both buttons to switch it on, it isn't automatic? |

I'm not really bothered about the matts or the pedals. just don't see them enough to justify the price.

Last time I looked into this (on my previous car) the unit is activated by a long press -(or sequence?), on one of the I drive buttons
