Ordered my 340i today!

I'll add another 6MT order to the list too! After getting the BMW taste from an E36 M3, I just placed an order today for a 340i.

--340i rwd
--6MT
--Mineral Grey
--Black Dakota w/ oyster pin striping
--Ash trim
--M-Sport
--Adaptive suspension (no VSS)
--Technology
--Cold Weather
--Drivers Assistance
--Black grill
--Rear/Side window shades

Looking at performance center delivery in SC, likely late May/early June.

Only question is side decals... I like the way they enhance the lines of the profile-- looks more "cut," but not sure on the decal. I see ebay knock offs I might try after delivery for less dollars. Still have a little time to ponder 18" vs 19" wheels.

Oh, I guess there is the question of how to pay for it when it comes (purchase, lease, or "owner's choice")... minor details of limited consequence...

Lots of thought went into this build over the past year or so. Many thanks to folks on this forum for helping me think things through a lot!

Nice set!! Congratulations - Glad you're getting a modern update!

I'm getting aftermarket black grilles - just can't decide whether glossy or matte. I need to see it in real life and not on a screen to make a decision...

Got my production number and VIN #, but can't see any details yet. So excited about it!

So I'm freaking out - it's been a week, and the mybmw tracking page still doesn't show any options. It shows the correct color paint and leather, but that is all. No options shown at all. And it says it's 'in production'.

Is there a way to make this thing refresh and show the right configuration? Or is there a problem with the order. My CA said that it takes a week to get set, but I just read a sad story of someone else on the forum who's car showed up with the wrong paint color, so I don't want to take accuracy for granted!

I have an SA build too and the options don't show on the BMW website. I too was concerned and called the 1800 number. They confirmed all my options.

Seems SA orders don't update because someone with a Germany build got it updated same day. My car is currently waiting for a ship. Mine completed March 3, CA said to expect late April, early May PCD delivery. This would be my second PCD and I can tell you the extra wait is hard but worth it.

There's also one more issue with the SA build. Normally they give a tentative PCD date as soon as you enter production. Then once the car is on a boat, they give you the exact date, normally bumped up from the original. After speaking with both PCD and my CA, due to delays with SA boats, they can't give me a date until it arrives in US. Once in the US it takes about 2-3 weeks for delivery.

Yeah - once I started panicking about the config not showing up, I called the CA - and he sent me a printout of an updated status to show that the config was correct in the system. The '150' was on there....

Nice! I'm hoping it will be a great experience. I'm a little afraid that it's tailored to M-car purchasers, but I'm hoping it'll also be good for my-first-bmw people like me....

Call the 800# for updates. I'm pretty sure your CA won't be able to push things faster in Germany, but, I'm sure he has the dates in his email. Perhaps he doesn't want to be bothered?

In any case, I've found the 800# to be most up to date. Check there.

Nice! It seems like the SA builds are super quick. I had my Munich order placed on 2/1 and it was produced at the same time as yours (first week in March).

ViperJa - it should be within days of order. I got my production order number pretty quickly.

800# Tips:
SKIP the voice commands! Takes too long to wait and they always get it wrong!!

1. Call the 800#
2. As soon as you hear a voice, press 2. When you hear the next prompt, press 2 again. You don't even have to wait for them to finish speaking, just press the numbers.
3. Enter in production order number
4. Press 1 (to confirm that you've just entered the production order number).

I've called enough times to figure this out!!

Just determined my 340 is SA and is "shipping" .... Dealership don't know or doesn't want to investigate shipping details...

Just got a call from my CA tonight - now in status 190 - released to carrier and on the way to the port for shipping!
