Thanks for your help.

So, as requested, can anyone expand on how the unit comes off? Looking at pictures of the IHKA unit, it looks like its an interference fit as opposed to being screwed or clamped?

You can go on RealOem Seite and search part with your vin number. The hardest things is to remove glove box and then you can change IHKA ecu.

Cheers Siki78, I have just finished installing F80 electric/memory seats so I actually have the glove box out, as well as the FEM cover off, as I have been running kcan wires for tpms. That's all pretty straight forward stuff. I have looked on top of the IHKA unit and can see the module. I can't see any screws from the underneath and I can't see any screws on real OEM either. I assume its simply pushed into slots, that's what I am trying to get someone to confirm who has actually done that mod as opposed to folk just chucking in their own thoughts who don't have any experience.

I used this thread as a resource to do the conversion and it is not entirely true. You do not need to upgrade your i-step version at all, nor VO code any of your ECUs besides IHKA3 once detected. I have my factory 11-13-502 version flashed on every ECU and was able to add IHKA3. I have posted pictures and a lot more here to assist future retrofitters: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...9#post30146389
