Sorry, not sure how likely you are to swing a deal. Personally, I'm going to stick with my build. I want my car exactly as ordered (no compromises).

My question was primarily due to people saying they were looking at cars available as opposed to waiting.

This applies usually before the car they built has gone into production, or if the one they have in production is an easy to sell model. If you're having a M trim built, chances are it won't be an easy sell if you don't take it, so they'll prob not give you a deal.

Makes sense. Thanks.

took 3 weeks for me but I think it's usually around a week for most

What is the official source of information about ship departure dates and planned routes?

My vehicle will be going to the US West Coast.
My SA build 335 is completing now (Status 155).

I am not sure if I'm doing this correctly. But here is what I think I found.

This link http://www.molroro.com/MOLVesselSchedule.aspx gets you a schedule, if you put in Durban and Long Beach it seems to me the next one out (Serenity Ace voyage 0035A) leaves Dec. 22. It is scheduled to arrive in Long Beach on February 13th.

Once the car is with the freight shipper you can put the VIN in on the "track and trace" here http://www.2wglobal.com/www/wep/index.jsp to confirm the ship etc.

I have yet to determine why (I think) some cars get offloaded in Bremerhaven and others don't. Of course I am hoping dearly my car does not - apparently this adds a couple of weeks. I've seen posts with SA build cars sitting in Germany mid-transit for about a month.

Can someone explain why this happens? Is it just about the bookings available on that outbound ship? It seems unloading a car from a ship going to the ultimate destination is not a great idea (well not great if its your car anyway).

I just confirmed with my dealer that my car made it on to the Felicity Ace that left Durban on 12/08. Expected to get to Oxnard on 01/27. Maybe one of you guys made it on as well? I did not even know there was a ship leaving last week but I'm not complaining

There are all kinds of deals out there in large markets. I ended up bailing on my order because it was not the 6-8 week build as originally described. I ended up buying more car for $1,500 less money and got my car two months earlier than my build would have arrived.

It costs nothing to bail from your build if somebody can find it for you right now. My car is actually better than my original build and I have it NOW!!

Mine finished production on 12/4 and has been at the port since 12/7...what are the chances of mine being on the 12/17 ship? What is the next one after that? I'm guessing mine is going to Baltimore since I live in Ohio?

I'm just hoping I will have my car by the end of Jan since that's when my G37 lease goes back... It's frustrating since I ordered the car on 11/1...the wait has been killing me!

Anyone get confirmation they are on the December 17 ship? The 800 number says my car is still at the port awaiting a vessel.

I was told by my dealer my car is on the Felicity Ace that left Durban on 12/8. ETA Long Beach on 1/28. It completed production on 11/14, then transported to port of exit around 11/30. The 800 status changed to "vehicle in transit" on 12/12.

I will be stop by my dealer tomorrow to figure out when the next ship will be. I was hoping my car made it on to the 12/08 ship but no luck status has not changed.

The ship that left on 12/17 was the Hoegh Shanghai but it seems to be going in the wrong direction

2 more ships left today (12/18) so we maybe in luck the EURO SPIRIT has previously transported BMW.

It looks like the next was the Primrose Ace (for East Coast). I am hoping I got on that one...anyone get confirmation that they are on that one?

Just spoke to my dealer and my car is on the boat. 800 number and online still says its not in route. It is scheduled to be in Baltimore the first or second week of January. The car was done production on the 12/6-7 just to give everyone a reference point.

That's great! What is the name of the ship? No word on my end yet.

That's good to know...mine was finished on 12/4, will have to call dealer to see if I made the boat.

I am pretty excited, not sure on the boat name, my dealer dosen't seem to know much. But the salesman pointed out that the boat comes straight to the US port and does not go to Germany. So it still is unclear to me if the Vessel actually goes to Germany.

Awesome news guys just called the 800 number and says my 335ix is in transit.

After some hard search I think I have found the ship that left on the 18th and this also confirms that some ships do come straight to the East cost.

http://www.molroro.com/ Vessel: PRIMROSE ACE

Another example is in the following thread and the vessel called "Victorious ace" which also didn't go to Bremerhaven first

Lucky. I just called and mine is still "at port awaiting vessell." So mine was completed two weeks before yours but still hasn't shipped. What's up with that?
