Coding Required for Headlight Replacement?

Hi,

For a 2016 320i, I need to replace the OEM headlight assembly with a used one. Do I need to do coding? It is the base version of headlight (halogen).

Thanks.

Pretty sure you do. I think all electrical components on the car need to be coded when being replaced (with the exception of some small parts), otherwise the car will not accept the part. Like a human body denying a donor organ

if replacing with identical OEM Halogen bulbs, logically, it should not require coding. But then again- it's a BMW!!!
