Parking brake cable making noise in 340i

I got a PPI on my 17 340i. Everything is great within the car mechanically, however, he let me know that the parking brake clips are broken and are hitting something every time I accelerate as it makes a weird noise. I never noticed it before, so Im not sure if it just happened, or never realized the noise. He told me it was nothing serious or damaging, but more of an annoying thing.

How should I fix this without paying $400?

You can fix it with four (4) zip ties. My f36 had this issue as the parking brake cable on both sides of the driveshaft were rubbing against it during heavy load (WOT). Jack up the car from the rear, crawl under and use two zip ties to insure it’ll hold up. I’ve driven over 100k miles and the noise hasn’t returned.

Did you have to take the exhaust off and unscrew everything to do that? I was going to do the zip tie method, but I wouldn't trust myself to take the exhaust off and attempt to put it back on. My shop quoted me $430 to do the fix.

Nope, only used a jack and two jack stands to gain access underneath the vehicle to do the quick job. The link in my first comment shows several members on this board have tackled this venture with ease.

Just did it myself! Didn't need to take everything off, but it was definitely trickier. Put 4 zip ties
