F30 N47 Turbo replacement

Hi all

So I have a 2012 F30 318d. A few months back it started throwing up a drivetrain error when accelerating hard/up a hill etc.

Error codes I got when scanning:

25C800 Exhaust backpressure sensor: sensor drifting out of tolerance

245400 particulate filter system, minimum differential pressure undershot.

Trusted local garage has stated I will need a new turbo. Obviously this will cost a fair bit and I’m wondering whether it’s necessary and not just a dirty sensor. The only thing that makes sense about the turbo going is the lack of power when accelerating sometimes. I’ve driven hundreds of miles since the errors first appeared a few months back at motorway speed.

The only thought in my mind is that I may well have just got used to it feeling a bit gutless, as the 318 isn’t exactly known for its speed. It’s maintained it’s great fuel economy too with a turbo gone so it makes me wonder.

Any thoughts?

Cheers!
