Gear selector switch replacement

Will my f30 need to be reprogrammed if I replace the gear selector switch (knob shifter)? I took apart the interior and found that it is connected with a plug. Removing everything took me about 30-40 minutes and was fairly easy ( I may make a DIY). I have a new GSS coming in and want to know if I need to have it sent to the stealership or private body shop to fix any "error codes" (if any) or to be reprogrammed. Thanks all.

Here is a picture of what I am replacing ( excuse the pic with the "unlock button" off). I'm replacing it because of the scratches.

Any other site I can purchase this from? Site above looked shady, I tried purchasing but got an error on two different cards and found lots of negative reviews after like shipping took over 2 months, no refunds, etc etc.

I'm actually interested in the answer to this, as well. I ended up buying the entire shifter assembly with the ///M performance carbon fiber shifter, as I somehow found it for cheaper than the insert.

I'm assuming it's PnP and that any VO coding remains since that is in the ECU (I have coded the 2TB - sports auto transmission). But are there any concerns to be aware of when switching out the shifter assembly? It looks to be a couple Torx screws and single connector, based on the unit I received.

Thanks for any help the community can provide on this.

** PS: To the OP - as long as this is PnP like I think it will be, I'll have a stock F30 shifter assembly for sale pretty soon here

I have one on the way, how much are you looking for? I spoke with the company that sold it to me and they said it should be completely plug and play. So that means no errors codes right?

Super Easy F30 BMW Mod! The F30 Automatic Gear Selector Upgrade!

F30 mod that is direct plug and play with no coding. Many of us with 2012 and 2013 F30s have the older style automatic gear selector.
