If my Servotronic Steering starts clunking (which it does not ... yet) and they have to change the rack, perhaps they can upgrade it with the more expensive and faster VSS rack as VSS is purely mechanical and includes Servotronic Steering.

Sorry to raise an old thread, 6 months in and 3000km later, I started to have this issue. I get clunking noise going over bumps while turning left mostly, i replicated the same noise with engine off, but ignition is on standby.
I've uploaded a video of how mine is like, is it the same as all of yours? with engine turned off, ignition on standby. afterwards, I started the car, the clunking is still there, just not as loud. |

I had the same issue with my MY12 and the dealer replaced the steering rack right away. After they replaced it, the noise was gone. The new steering rack needed a different program which made the repair a week long. Overall the feel of the steering is no longer super light. I feel the new steering rack have a more accurate weight and more fluid assist through out the steering range. My main complaint about my car was the super light and now that's been resolved, I'm super happy now!
