im storing my 4gc as well this winter for the simple fact of trying to keep it brand spanking new in my view as long as possible. it might just be a perception thing but winters here is like meth going through a super model one hit at a time, the negative effects are not quickly apparent but fast forward x number of years and man, the difference aint pretty.

FYI you can actually route the tender cord around or under that area of the hood insulation, and then run it between the headlight and the corner of the fender. There's room to spare. Then you can close the hood fully.

I always enjoy seeing people who go that extra yard to care for their car. Who cares if it's a Ferrari or a Civic?
A little over the top? Probably, but I'm no different even when there is only a slight chance of precipitation. I don't get why "I'm Wrong" is trying to make a mockery of the OP. It's one thing to put in your two cents about how YOU would handle it, but wtf? |

I retract the jokes. I went over the top with more than one comment, you are right. Off I go. |

I took the high road and didn't respond to the comments. The "POS FWD" deserved one, but I refrained.

Again I apologize for my behaviour. Sorry. Kudos on the beautiful cars though and on taking care of your car well (not being sarcastic). This is the last post on this thread, I'm sorry I took over it with bad jokes, just wanted to let you know I wasn't trying to mock you (although, that's what I ended up doing with all the comments). Cheers |

If I was driving a new Mazda for a daily driver, I wouldn't have a run of the mill 4 series as a "summer" car. I'd have an M3/4 or a muscle car or some such. If I'm going to have a summer car, it's going to be a real summer car, not what most people would consider a daily driver, but to each their own I guess. I would just get snow tires and drive that 4 series, get it in xdrive if you must.
A 4 series is a pretty banal car to have, it's pretty much the definition of daily driver. Not really a car worth storing IMO...especially if it's not a car you are planning on keeping forever and especially especially if it's a lease. This reminds me of that thread about the guy that was storing his no-line 328 for the winter. |
