F31 3 Series Touring design leaked

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
It seems that all details are out via patent filing. Not a whole car, but you can make it in your mind ;-)

http://www.autoforum.cz/predstaveni/...tovych-snimku/

I havent seen any more appropriate section for F31 topic, so I hope it can be placed here. I am wating for this car to take place of 1 Series 5-door Does anyone know if debuts in Genf?

It's not that nobody is interested it's that we tend to go for SUVs here when needing that extra amount of cargo space.

I, for one, am waiting for the F31 in the US. Make mine a 328i M Sport with a manual.

thatsagoodpoint: I see no reason to buy SUV - almost the same passenger & cargo space, but much more weight, height, less dynamics, higher consumption... It is only a style.

Maybe good in US where people usually don't drive fast. But here in Europe? It is very good to have car with such space for family that you can use almost like a saloon on the road (without family of course ).

We're interested. Thanks for posting, but it's hard to distinguish sheet metal from what the actual product will look like.

I agree 100% your assessement of SUVs, but unfortunately in the US bigger is better. Wait till gas is $5/gal and they will warm up to wagons. Can't wait to see the F31 M-Sport.

==========

You've never seen an American highway during rush hour traffic. Trust me bro, we drive plenty fast. I know there are people like my wife that like the extra height that an suv provides.

Itgb: Yes it needs some fantasy But I think all key lines are absolutely clear after this leak. It needs someone like Theophilus Chin or Wildspeed to draw the result. Any illustration would be almost precise now... I hope someone will pick it up

And I think US need to learn that speed does not kill, only idiots do Because if you drive any faster, you see how useless concept SUV is. If you have to spend some time in jail for 160 or 200 kph (what is absolutely weird here) then I understand people are driving 60 mph and something like handling is not important at all...

I am going to pick 335i F31 M Sport as soon as possible and I hope it will be great compromise.

Disorientated women in big cars thinking their orientation will get better when sitting 30 cms higher above the road... are the most dangerous drivers I know

But I don't want to start any flame US are simply different country and we won't change it. But I think you will sooner or later find out that Touring is nothing for pensioners and it just makes more sense than SUV when you want to drive. And this is something you should want when you buy a BMW

Not all Americans want SUV's. I'm waiting for an F31 M Sport with all three pedals. I have not, and don't plan on ever owning an SUV. And having worked in Germany for five years, I will fully admit that we do not drive fast over here.

Coming from the Netherlands I kind of don't understand that it is even like that here on Oahu. I mean, this is an island, 30x40 miles in size, almost nothing but normal roads, why on earth do people here have to drive big *ss 4x4's? There are so many HUGE trucks driving here, owned by people who never seen a back road in their life.. I just don't get it lol

Oh well, maybe I shouldn't say anything, I currently drive an X5 haha (but then again, that was because it prove to be easier when my daughter was small and I disliked the E90's).

or Harold Wood?

They are currently in the progress of film and photography of the "Sport Hold-all" Again Sport , Modern and Luxury lines will be offered.
So we should see first pictures around April-time , prior to its premiere in Germany, which is the largest market for the 3er Touring at the AMI, Leipzig in June.

It has nothing to do with bigger is better, it's about the impression of the car itself. I would not drive a minivan, not because they are bad, but because they are uncool. SUVs just seem cooler than a wagon. It's not that they in fact are, but it's not always about facts with car ownership, and that's not a bad thing or anything to apologize for.

Nothing cooler than a properly modified wagon, IMHO. I'm eagerly anticipating the F31.

But then you have to ask yourself, why is an SUV cooler than a wagon? Because it is faster? No. Because it has more utility? No. Because it get's better gas mileage? No. Because it handles better? No. Because it brakes better? No. You're lying to yourself if size has nothing to do with why you think it's cooler.

This is great! I really can't wait to see the finished product. If it's anything like the F11 it will be stunning.

I'd love a manual M Sport 328i.

Maybe by next fall...

Was it me, or do all the E91s in the US have the M Sport option?

E91 M-Sports are very rare. Just like on E90, E92, & E93 cars there was non-Sport Pkg, Sport Pkg, and M-Sport Pkg.

There's a Space Gray LCI E91 M Sport in my parking lot at work. There's also a white one (also M Sport) that parks in one of my friend's building. Given that I don't see many other E91s around, I assumed that BMW only imported ones preconfigured with the M Sport package in order to maximize their margins on a low volume model.
