I'm 68 and I'd be the same way! Current F30 has MPPK and MPE and I'm still loving it after 4 years!

I recently drove a 440i with MPPSK to see if it was worth adding to mine and I didn't notice any difference at all from my 340 power wise. The 440 demo only had 40 miles on it so I'm thinking that could have been the issue? Maybe I'll try again when they have put a couple thousand miles on it.

It was definitely louder in sport and sport+. Calms down quite a bit in comfort, but still louder than stock. I found myself driving like an even bigger dbag than normal just so I could hear the exhaust sounds lol

Anyone have any actual 1/4 time slip numbers for the 340/440 MPPK?
Since its show & tell time on birthdays was 75 on my last one.

The MPPK is made to make more noise, such as shifting and particularly in overrun conditions (like anytime you let off the gas). I love the snap, crackle and pop of the exhaust from my 335i when coasting! I am sure the 340i will be similar! Enjoy!

I've only heard YouTube vids thus far; can anyone comment on how this sounds compared to a stock STI? I have one now but am upgrading to a 340 soon and getting the mppsk port installed? Louder than a subby? I assume so, just hope it's not obnoxiously loud...

No, it will not make your neighbors mad, it will not wake sleeping babies. It is noticeably louder but you will not hear it with the music on. It will not have a drone at high speeds. It will also be "Mode' controllable. Sport Mode, lots of pops and crackling, eco-mode, very little. YouTube does not give it any justice. Some think it is not loud enough, but I head to work at 5:30 AM and do not want to be the alarm clock as I leave the neighborhood. It is not obnoxious IMHO.

Here is my deal and I think it's about the average. MPPSK kit was $2399.60, CF tips were $203.20 each. Labor to install the exhaust was $187.85 and programing was $149.95 so total was $3143.80. Dealer add's a shop supply/enviromental fee of $38.85, State sales tax is $204.14, my out the door cost $3386.79

In a nutshell, a $3,400 MPPSK will have the same 60% residual at end of lease, you only pay the 40% - your negotiated price. The full 40% price would be $1,360 for the 36 months. However, the actual cost would be less because you negotiated a better deal. This is good to know for any personalized accessories (MPPSK, Carbon Fiber items, shift knobs, etc.) you may want to have for your next BMW!

If you want the MPPSK residualized as part of your lease does it have to be port-installed? Or can you get it dealer-installed on a new car on the lot?
Is it "cheaper" to get it port-installed? Also, what do they do with the stock exhaust? I'm assuming that you can't keep it and resell it. |
