I don't think anyone will buy a 335 and add 10k+ (or more) of these parts to make it more expensive than an m3.
More likely existing f30 owners will buy 1-2k of parts that tempts them. Its a way to get more money from existing owner while giving them an opportunity to further individualize their cars. There will be alot of 320/328 owners who would want to add a few bits im sure. Porsche for years offered 50k+ in options for a 80k car (911) heck its to too hard to configure a panemara to 200+k or a cayman to 100k but very few people actually do it. Also probaby there are young people whos parents helped them get their 320/328 and they will probably spend quite a bit on these bits. These are high markup bits for BMW and builds brand loyalty. Not every upgrade is for track performance and not everyone can afford M3 insurance

Loving the front bumper and splitter just print the center grille (on the bumper) color matched and it would look complete nice stuff I wonder if the pedals are compatible on e90?

Tired of hearing the "you could buy an m3 with that money" argument. Go ahead buy the m3, there are a TON of mods to do to the m3..Why stop at an m3? You could get an M5 for that money!

If u spend 5k or less on these mods (picking whichever u like) then it really doesnt take the car out of its price range. I dont think anybody is going to get every single option.

Yeah, I've fallen into thinking "I should have gotten an M3" or used 997 or Cayman S trap a few times myself after adding up the cost of all of my M Perf and aftermarket bits on top of the F30...problem is the current M3 is about to be outdated, and I built an M3 on BMWUSA.com with equivalent options and it was still quite a bit more...not to mention I wouldn't likely be able to resist modifying it...just keeps going and going, like you said. Happy with the F30 for now...we'll see when the F8x comes out...

Like that steering wheel
I'd love to plug it into my E36M, though that would require spending money. I kind of like having fun/fast/free.

Here there's still a $60-70K (USD) price difference between the 335i and M3. You can add as many of these parts as you like and get nowhere near an M3 price.

Anyway...my local dealer has one of these M-Performance-loaded 335i-s on the lot. I must say, the BMW fan in me thinks that these OEM mods are very cool and that the car looks/sounds pretty good... The cynic in me thinks that this whole product line is designed to milk more margin out customers over time, rather than up front (which tends to be harder). As a former 335i M-Sport Performance Edition owner (yea...I know, lots of qualifications in that one); love your car for what it is (a very quick BMW), not for what it almost is (a budget M-car). http://www.bmwofwarwick.com/detail-2...w-9911761.html |

Regarding M3 vs 335 price:
These parts are not for everyone. Some people want the absolute best sports sedan BMW has to offer, and currently since there is not an M option available, this is it. Some people don't have a budget or care about what is coming out next. Even if you are concerned about what is coming out in a year or so, if you outfit your F30 with these parts you will end up with a unique, incredible performing top tier F30 that most would dream of having. |

Yep, 335i is around $100K, an M3 around $160K. The price difference is significant enough to make these parts attractive. If I was in the US, I'd probably go for an M3. Or more likely an M5
