CPO 328i Drivetrain malfunction and shaking when A/C on?
Hi there F30 drivers, I'm usually over at E90post but this question is for a friend of mine who recently had an issue with her CPO 2013 328i x-drive SULEV.
The vehicle started and idled fine, the A/C was on. We idled for 2 min until the revs dropped below 1k. We put the car into reverse, as soon as we did that, the drivetrain malfunction message came up on the screen and the vehicle did not move. Gave it a little gas and it moved but very slowly. The whole car was shaking quite roughly. We put it into Drive and it does the same thing. I turned the A/C off and it no longer shakes as much, there is still a slight shake and the drivetrain malfunction message is still on. I have the 2 year CPO warranty so I'm not that worried about it since they should cover most mechanical issues. But I just want to know what issue is with these F3X, I thought F30 were suppose to be more reliable? My 2011 328i with 59k miles has been a dream to drive and I've been thinking about getting a CPO F30 328/335 in 1 year or so... |

There is every chance that if the car is parked overnight the issue will be resolved.
Same thing happened to one of mine, sorted itself. The premise these cars aren't reliable doesn't seem to be true though. You never though, might be a Friday arvo car |
