Would be cool if someone can make a video of the jb1 0-60 and all those times. instead of bms times..

Haha, did some pulls with a Stage 1 GTI last Sunday, 'tis what brought up the convo

Might do some videos next time with the GoPro. That is, of course, if we end up heading down to Mexico

N20 w/DP & JB1 pulls on MK6 Stage 1 GTI from a roll. From a dig, no contest - RWD>FWD of course.

Still wish we had a 1/4 mile track open for public use out here in SoCal :/

With my P3Cars vent gauge I was able to pull comparable numbers, a bit faster with DP. Should be a thread floating somewhere around here... Still not the most accurate measurement but if you can get the rear tires to hook up, we're capable of some pretty quick 0-60's.

While I notice the difference, I am handicapped by being on 235mm snow tires. It's a big enough power increase that traction control is cutting power early and often.

April I will have 275mm rear Pilot SuperSports, so planting power should not be a problem.

Slammed =/= driving slow though, at least not in a straight line.

Granted they aren't as sticky, my 275/30/19 Falken FK452 break loose at the top of first (8spd Auto). Hopefully your Super Sports fair better.

When replacing the negative terminal of the battery after N20 JB1 install, what, if anything is lost from the car's (iDrive) settings prior to battery terminal removal?

Thanks

I think I had re-select the three blinker clicks, audio/tone as well.

I bought BMS Stage 1 for my F30 (N26) and installed it this past weekend. The difference was night and day in the torque department. No turbo lag at all. I am very impressed, its pretty damn quick! I am not a guy who goes to the track and drag races or anything like that. I just wanted to be able to get up on it when I need to. The BMS stage 1 was a perfect choice for me. I am very happy with the purchase. I highly recommend getting one!

What effect will this have on the warranty of the car?

It should void a warranty but I've seen people who have destroyed their BMW with the use of aftermarket parts and depending on who the shop foreman or service manager is they will have BMW pay the repair just to keep a good CSI and the customer coming back to that dealer.

On a side note, I raced a 2012 stage 2 VW Golf R on e85 and beat him by a car with my 2013 N26 with just the AFE tune. BMS stage 2, down pipe, and intake coming soon!

For you guys with an 8AT, how do you guys get quick acceleration times? I've noticed that if in manual mode and you try and shift near redline, there is a drop of power after 6000rpm and the shift feels slowed. Do you guys shift early to avoid that power drop off?

Manual flappy paddle override. Yes, many acceleration times are conducted with gear changes at or around 6 -6.5k rpm for exactly what you stated.

Trial & error runs as well, which is probably why consecutive times vary.

Thanks David. And yes, I always try in sport+ mode. Looks like I have to shift a little earlier to get a quicker shift. And for launch, just brake-torque?

If I try to shift near 7k in 1st gear the car falls on it's face and hesitates.

I think putting it in Sport+, moving the shifter to the left (Sport) and leaving the tranny in auto would probably be faster since the car will perform all the shifts perfectly.
