Wow, they're adding the full digital instrument cluster to the 340i sedan for '18? Isn't the G20 coming out within a year? Also, any pricing and packaging details?

Looking at the code, it's the same as now available in the 4 series

Are you specifically referring to the digital instrument cluster (6WB) or the packages in general?

Do you know whether the iDrive 6.0 includes a touch screen?

Was refering to the digital cluster! Also, all 3 series build from july onwards will get the touchscreen if spec'd with the 8 inch screen.

Nailed my assumption that the digital cluster was going into the exec pack

But did not expect HUD to move up to the premium pack

Thanks! Might want to post in the General section, too.

No pricing on the packages yet? Curious what the M Sport Shadow edition will cost...

One can basically deduce what the 2018 pricing will be for the 330 and 340 models by taking the current base price of using the current online configurator from the 4-series.

The one outlier could be if BMW offers a "free" M-sport pkg on 340 models as they did in MY17. You still need to pony up for M-sport on 4-series models.

Based on all the little bits of info here and there my expectation is the 2018 3 series announcement from BMW NA
includes reorg of packages of the 2018 3 to match the 2018 4
addition of digital dash and touchscreen
notes inclusion of touchscreen for 2018 4 and slight package adjustments to incorporate the digital dash

This is exactly what I'm hoping for and why I'm following this so closely. My 440 is scheduled for late-August production and I'm hoping it includes both of these features.

And I'm sure that a car configured the way I want will be a tiny bit cheaper for '18 vs the '17 that I ordered in March (and is still sitting at the port in South Africa). Lease deals will most likely be worse though so I guess I can't complain

I wish they would add ventilated seats as an option. Costs for implementing that must to be too high since the Audi A4 has it available.

Looks like we won't be seeing that option until the G20 series 3 in 2019. That's the one option I really wanted on my my 2017 that I couldn't have. Have the ventilated seats on our 2016 X5 and they do just enough to keep you from getting "sweaty back" on hot/humid NJ summer days. A truly "cooled" seat (i.e. tied into the A/C vents) would be even better.

Wow I didn't even know ventilated seats was a thing! That would be awesome to have on these extremely humid Maryland days

Do we know if M-sport with be a no cost option on 340i models as it was in 2017?

Also, can we assume that 4-series colors (i.e.., Snapper Rocks Blue) will be available for the 3-series in 2018?

Looks like M-sport costs money.

No snapper rocks
