My car gets uncomfortably hot despite darkest legal tint so thinking of adding the manual blinds.

Much cheaper.

With a rear facing child, this has been great. My wife can't stop gushing over how she wishes she had this in her car as well. Yes, my car is tinted (35% all around), but this definitely helps reduce the glare in my son's face. The manual sunshades that come with the package are also great on warm/hot days so I can roll down the windows and I don't have to worry about him throwing his toys out of the window.

Definitely worth it if you have a child. I agree with it's of questionable use for anyone without a baby/toddler.

Had the shade in my 335is including the rear quarter windows. Could have been just as good if it was a snap in instead of powered. Typically it was up all summer & down all winter.

I have the option in my 340i. I wouldn't say it's worth the effort to retrofit. You're better of getting a tint (which I have).

It's handy when you park in direct sunlight on a summer day but not very necessary if you have a good tint which blocks most of the UV rays and blocks heat transmission to protect the leather.

Quite useful if you're young and don't have a place to... well you know...

Wow this was an old thread!

Have to agree with the majority on this one; the sunshade is nice to have but isn't one I would buy again.

Wish I could do the same here with the limo tint but in my area, the cops have nothing to do so they look for broken tail lights headlights inspections and tint.

My 2011 335i had this option as well. It was handy but not when the rear shade failed to close. As far as the glare my car had 25% tint so it wasn't really that big of a deal. I ordered it on my 340i just b/c my wife seemed to really like it.

I’ve tinted all the side windows with Ceramic, but I have the rear power sunshade (along with the manual sides) and I would certainly order it again. The manual sides, meh, but the power rear is a keeper.

Now, I don’t know that I’d go through the install after the fact.

Bumping this.

Anyone recommend a temporary option to not get the rear sunshade and to get tint on the rear? I have 35% tint and my daughter is rear facing so the sun is really bright. I have to take one of those amazon oval sun shades and throw it up against the rear window.

Trying to find option that I can just put up and down only when I drive around with her in the car.

I don't understand why nowadays people think their baby is going to melt because a few sunrays. A bit of sun is good for vitamin D an it will tough up their skin.
If I have a baby I will put that lil mofo right in the sun so he can grow a big D and his skin gets too chewy for mosquitos.
