Shell Helix Ultra LL-01 OK for 320 E90?

Hi guys, did an oil change on my 320 E90 the other day and after calling BMW Brisbane a few times found out they use Shell Helix Ultra so thats what I used, when I had brakes done at a local shop that specialises in BMW's he seemed concerned and said I should use Castrol Edge as specified by BMW, I did plenty of research before using the oil, found that it came with BMW approval LL-01, said so on the bottle, and if thats what Brisbane BMW are using should all be good right? Cheers.

The engineers created the oil spec, in this case BMW’s LL-01. Then the marketing guys cut whatever deal they could with whatever brand.

So I keep in line with the engineers (LL-01). If feel no need to be concerned about what the marketing department thinks.
