Yes, this is true. I am on the lease extension program right now. They will go up to 6 months. But, I think you need to have a new BMW on order to qualify but I am not 100% sure on that point.

Along with the F20 1 series. So definitely no chance at all for the F30 3 series to be thrown in as well.
My guess would be Either Geneva 2013 or Frankfurt 2013. I'm probably a little more confident in the latter. Whichever it is, full details will be revealed on the internet a couple months before, of course. |

I believe BMW has confirmed that the F-30 will be shown at the Frankfurt Auto Show in the fall, and will be available early in 2012. The E-92 will end its production run for the 2011 model August 2011, and restart the 2012 E-92 production line in September. The F-32 will be at least 1 year behind the F-30.

hmm...now I need to ponder once again what my priorities are and what I should do.
1) I am in desperate need of a sedan as one of the two I have is about to die (can make it till next spring). 2) I really wanted something awd as the winters have been brutal here lately in East TN. 3) I like the new s4 but the 335xi would be a lot cheaper with ED and their is a dealership in town versus the nearest audi being 90 miles away. |

Seems to me that having a 335xi for two to three years would be a really nice way to spend the time waiting for the F30 to come out, get debugged, and get past the initial demand.

I think it's a bit odd that BMW USA has not updated its "Build Your Own" 3 series page for 2012 models. Being that it is mid April, it would seem too late to order a 2011.
As far as the poster looking for a 4wd sedan, there ought to be lots of 2011's sitting on dealer lots right now. That is no waiting.

so if BMW is ending production for the e90 sedan this Fall in the USA and now we are hearing Frankfurt debut of the F30, is it reasonable to think F30s will hit the showrooms early 2012 (March at the latest?). i don't understand how BMW will stop producing their bread and butter (3er) for more than a couple of months without filling orders for the next fleet?
i want a new F30 by the end of April, is that possible?

Something still doesn't add up with these dates. It is possible that the F30 will be available before it makes its actual auto show debut at Geneva 2012 - that sort of thing has happened before. But still, we are hearing a mid/late spring launch in the US. The dealerships are going to be empty by then if they stop producing E90s in October as recent rumors suggest. Frankfurt 2011 rumors for the F30 have been around for a while, but with the F20 debuting there, it is hard to imagine they'd bring out the F30 as well. I can't recall ever seeing two brand new BMW series models shown at the same show.

why would the F20 debut before the F30?

Because the 1 series product cycle begins/ends slightly ahead of the 3 series.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_1_Series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_Serie...C_2005-present The E87 1 series debut was in 2004, while the E90 3 series debuted in 2005. |

i guess i am confused, because i swear the 1-series didn't come out in the USA until after the e90 (i know Euro gets the low end stuff before us)

Not only the F20, but the F10 M5 will also be debuting at Frankfurt, so if the F30 was to debut at Frankfurt, that would make 3 big debuts. Very unlikely.

However that is not particularly relevant here. The reason is that the model that is launching in Frankfurt is the F20 which is *just* the hatchback. The new coupe and convertible are the F22 and F23. These are another matter entirely. They won't get their debut sometime late next year, so yes, they will come after the E90 has already debuted. |
