I have a 2018 440i and just got Bimmercode. Everything works fine except for two things;

1. It won't let me go into idrive coding as it says an update is required. My car is 2018 and has been to the dealer multiple times this year, I would think I shouldn't need an update no? If so, how do I tell which version I need and what's the easiest way to get it?

2. When I select M performance logo on the gauge cluster it comes up as M550d. I have the 6WB digital cluster. Any idea why this is or how to fix it?

Update: I checked my VIN at the following link: https://www.bmw.com/en/footer/software-updates.html

It says I am fully up to date. Any ideas what's going on with Bimmercode and how to resolve? Idrive coding is the main reason I got it. I submitted support ticket with them but am not hopeful for response.

I suggest you contact BimmerCode author for support, as it's his product you're having issues with.

You have to be more specific about what features you're trying to code. Bimmercode will do HU coding, if it's a feature that can be coded.
