Replacing or removing fog lamp cover from Luxury to sport.

Just Replace my Luxury Fog Lamp cover to Sport Line Fog Lamp cover to match my 3D Design Front Lip.
No Tools are needed in removing FogLamp cover on luxury bumper, 15 minutes Job & with a bit of pulling (require some force) those things comes out easily.

Chrome Trim need to be off first, so start pulling from there and then continue with plastic cover.
Chrome trim will require some force in pulling it out, don't rush it or you'll scratch the bumper.
after the chrome trim is off, the black plastic is easy, just pull it gently & it's off.

Luxury Line Fog lamp Cover.

Sport Line Fog Lamp Cover.

The Picture is foglamp cover for 328i sport. mine car is 335i, so ended up cutting the brand new cover to make air way for the transmission cooler (Right Side Fog Cover).

Installing the Sport Line fog cover is very simple, Direct Bolt-on to the original clips & fit like a glove.
The only flaw is, Luxury Line have one more extra clip that Sport line fog cover don't have, so you'll get a visible holes from the front.
(look carefully on the "After Pics" & u'll see it)

After

Sorry Don't have details pics of each steps.

Did you have to cut anything other than the tabs?
Like the vents on the sides of the regular bumper
Or did the sport line just cover ontop of it?

no other cutting is needed. the whole vents will be cover by the sport line fog cover.

Would it be possible to elaborate on how to remove fog cover. I know you mentioned just pull but there must be a certain to pull. Don't want to break any clips. It would greatly help many members.

Thanks!

I was told by the dealer that the center part does not have to be changed.
I still don't want to pay $100 for the install at the dealer and waiting for a DIY.

I think it's not that hard to do since they are all snapon-in thingy's

I'll gonna wait untill I have the car and hoping that the center part doesn't need to be changed otherweis I need to wait for that part again.

Mine is going to be the normal bumper so I do not have that extra hole from the luxary setup

$100 for install is definitely a rip off, the process takes no more than 15 minutes. it's all snap-on, the tricky process is pulling the Luxury line chrome strip out (require a bit of force but do it gently), don't worry it won't break. once the chrome strip is out the rest is easy.

your Normal Bumper as in Base Line ?
Base Line bumper is not compatible with sport line fog cover.
center part is the same on all line, so don't worry.

Just wanted to know what is the difference between the base bumper and the bumper from the line cars?

From what I see, the grills looks the same on the modern line, luxury line has the extra chrome whiskers and the sports line is has a completely different fog grill.

LTMB says that all bumpers are the same except for the fog grills.

From what i saw on my bumper, there are holes for the snap-on clip that hold the chrome stripe (luxury line), this is where it also hold the snap-on clip for Sport Line fog cover. whereas the base line doesn't have that extra holes.

I'll keep you all updated, still waiting for the car to arrive. If the only thing that is different with the line bumpers is a extra hole then we make a extra hole to fix that problem..making a hole is not hard to do

No holes where needed, I made a small modification to the trims because not every plastic clip fitted the bumper but they where not needed to put the cover in place. I drove about 100 miles with them mounted and everything stays in place
