YouTube Music + Bluetooth = no track time info
2018 340i, US
Not a huge problem, but I'm not getting track/song time info (current time/total time on a slider bar) playing YT Music over BT. I do get time info with Pandora. Does anyone else experience this, or have solved it? Interestingly, if I don't have YT Music actively open on my phone (Google Pixel 6a) and the car wakes/autoplays the app, I'll get the time info for the FIRST song it plays only, and then it goes away for subsequent songs. I just updated the YT Music app. I think I also got album art at one point with either YT or Pandora, but not positive; not getting art with either now. Kindly don't criticize my choice of device, phone operating system, or music service; that's not helpful for anyone, nor am I going to change any just for this silly nit Thank you.

Check bmwusa.com for new iDrive multimedia firmware. It may fix some BT issue.
Did you try restarting your phone or pairing it again? |

It's an odd little thing, but more of a curiosity than anything.

Not sure how much/if it's changed at all but this is why I moved to spotify. The info you get over bluetooth seems to vary between the app you use and the phone you're using - no real rhyme or reason to it that I know of. Some are great, some are awful.
I used to have Google Play Music and it was great, could even scroll through the current playlist/queue in the HUD and select the next track. Google killed that off, youtube music had no track info at all. Apple music seemed good and had the playlist in the HUD etc but after a while would stop updating any of the info. I ended up putting an old iphone in the snap-in adapter in the center arm rest and using spotify on that, so I could use the spotify idrive app and get more functionality. Anyway, rant over, if you don't mind plugging the phone in you might have better luck with the AA Idrive app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...hl=en_GB&gl=US |

Thanks DThr33 - I may give it a try out of curiosity, but most of my drives are relatively short so I'll probably not want to adapt the habit of plugging in.
I'm guessing my issue is my phone/app because I discovered that if I let the app roll, subsequent tracks don't get time info but if I manually change the playlist/album/radio, I get the time info again, but only on the first track.
