iPhone (office) features.
Has anyone with a 328i with Bluetooth kits got the office integration working in Aus?
I have the office menu in iDrive but I don't get txt messages or email on iDrive. I did have the iPhone 4 and figured it was an iPhone 4 issue. Now with the iPhone 5 I have the same issue. I've set the paired deveice to use the car for notifications and I think I've sent in notifications the right settings for it to work. Messages, phone, and email set to alert and notify on locked screen. So I wanted to see if anyone in Aus actually has this working or is this another feature we don't get? Cheers Tom |

In the navigation section of the forums is a guide as to what you have to enable on phone and car. It's all settings from what I read.

I managed to get email working on mine (sort of). Each time you get turn on ignition, you need to use the phone/settings menu - go to notifications and email, and change the value of "show X Unread items" - for example toggle between 5 and 10.
I found this tip on another forum somewhere - and if seems to be working ok. I am guessing it wont be fixed properly until we see an IOS6 patch. Text messages are working fine for me - very cool. |

I am not 100% certain sorry, I only picked my car about 10 days ago, and it came with the various options the dealer had pre-ordered. I know one of the options was listed as "Connectivity, Bluetooth and USB devices".
Is that the question you are asking? |

May require some further direction here ... I have spent a good 30mins going through each menu but do not seem to be able to get the SMS/text messages working.
In summary, - I have the "Extended Connectivity with Bluetooth/USB Voice control" (6NK) - In Bluetooth, ticked all options for Telephone, Audio, Additional phone, Show Pictures - In Office, only have My Contacts as an option Anything else I may have missed? |

Then, on your phone Notification menu, make sure Messages & Mail is in the notification centre... Only NEW mail & message that arrive after your phone is connected with the car will be shown. On Blackberry, all old email & message will be shown (so this is an IOS issue). |

The downside I find is that there is no audible notification that you have received a text message. At least not that I have noticed since I'm usually listening to net radio. I just seem to have to keep an eye for the envelope icon on the screen Do any of you get a sound from your car speakers when you receive a new text?

Unfortunately followed Kon's instructions and still no luck with SMS. I made sure that Mail and Messages are in the Notification centre but selecting Bluetooth on my phone and selecting on BMWXXXX, there is no such option as "Show Notifications". I am running the latest ios unless the SMS function is not compatible with a dinosaur of iPhone 3GS. |

Go to Telephone > Bluetooth, click on option the bottom right button on your idrive controller and scroll to Bluetooth Settings (or something similar), you should see Additional Telephone, Office, Picture, and (one more item can't remember what it is lol!)... Make sure you have office checked. If all is in order and you still can't see Show Notifications on your iPhone bluetooth menu, remove the pairing and repair the phone again... If it still doesn't work, I don't know why |

I'm shagged if I can get my messages to apppear!
As far as I can see I have everything set up. I can see the messages folder on the Idrive screen, I have the notifications selected on the iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1.3) but yet no new messages are appearing. All I can get is my contacts. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong! Thanks. |

I got it to work today. What I did:
Updated my IPhone 4 to 6.1.3 software Followed the steps in this post - Post #2 by bimmermeupscoty. Step 3 seemed to be the missing link for me. I get new SMS and emails displayed in the Office app and car will read them to me if I wish. Hope that helps.

So you can receive SMS ? Do you have an audible alert from the car when a new text arrives? I still get no audible alert only the "envelope" icon on the screen.
