There are no silly questions, only some dumb answers, but this is another working place...
For your answer: You can wrap surely the entire trim and panel but be warned about the appearance. The small step between the silver and the blue appears after wrapping much more bigger than before no matter how tight you finish the wrap. Additionaly I must say, that the overall look of a total wrapped panel is not my favorite, but thats your taste. Finally, the rear edge of the coloured trim is quite small so the wrap has not much space to adhesive itself on enough space. Consider the possibility, that the wrap maybes' flaking of from behind to the front. So give it a try and dont forget the pictures for us

I accidentally bought 2 x 12"x48" and i found out 12" is not long enough to place the center console vertically to match the pattern of the dash trim.
I did it all anyway with just one 12"x48" (driver side vent, all doors, center console, dash trim) 1x 24''x48" is needed for the center console to match the dash trim pattern. Just place all the parts horizontally and the center console vertically. |

Dude, are you clever or more cheesy? You'd wroted me a PN to quest exact your problem before ordering and I'd told you, that this would be happen.
So what to do now? Order the correct size or the same again and finish it

Lol. It must have been mentioned a few times the size of sheet you should get to make your life easier. There is a reason to get a certain size sheet so that the pieces can be laid out nicely and make sure all the pattern matches up. |

Nonetheless i'm happy with the result and just one 12"x48" for $20 was well worth the money. It's not like i'm going to look at the pattern all the time, i just wanted to cover the bad looking all silver trim. |

Danger - or anyone really - my vinyl wrap came today. In order to get the weave going the same direction on all the pieces, you cant just lay them out like in this picture above correct? They will end up being laid out across the piece rather oddly in order to cut them with the weave all going the same direction? Which is why it was necessary to get the 24" x48"? (which is the size I got, and I know the one in the above picture is not the right size)

Thats correct. It takes more wrap to have enough material to let the structure of the CF wrap flow into the same direction. I would recommend, that you should start with the center trim and then with the lower one where the iDrive wheel is mounted. Be sure to remove the unit before wrapping and dont let too much wrap at the edges of the unit because at installing the edges would flake off and get be shoven against the installation direction of the unit.
All other questions (including this hints) should be mentioned here into the thread.

I got mine done! Turned out awesome. By the end, I really got the hang of using the vinyl. Because I'm so ocd, I went back and redid the first couple pieces I did to get them just right.

I received my 2 12 x 48" rolls today. Can someone dumb it down for me as to the layout of the pieces so the weave matches up? I'm sure it'll make sense tomorrow when I take a crack at it. I'm familiar with wrapping vinyl on trim pieces, so I imagine this can't be too different.

@ MannyJD: Introduce us your work with photos, please
@ the_man_in_blue: As already mentioned here: Start with the center trim panel as the largest part of the wrapping. When finished, place the remaining wrap plain with CF structure up and place the lower trim with the iDrive removed on it that the waves are corresponding to your previous work. Remind the flow and turn around, for better cutting shapes use a stencil to surround the shape and cut out. And so on for the rest of the items. Good luck out there.

I spent way too much time on it, only to realize I don't think I like it with the blue. Here's a crappy phone pic taken a few minutes ago. I'm going to redo a couple pieces. 1 door handle, the one pictured, doesn't flow with the rest, and the large dash piece was hard to cut out on one try. I'll probably scrap the whole idea anyway.

I like your very first try
Ok: The upper center trim as a rough step into the right side visible, probably caused by unexact cutting. The shifter frame has a small bulb at 6:30 position. Erm...whats with your door trim? Are they silver and not blue like the rest? How'd you ordered that?
