a full set $2K replica wheels never belongs in an F30

I assume you payed 25% tax (moms) on the total cost of the wheel and shipping? At least that's how it's here in Norway.

Yes, plus 4.5% in customs (tullavgifter).

285 isn't a tire size and, yes, it's clear you don't know what outer diameter is. Besides, tire size means nothing....it's all about the specs page.

Interesting, no customs here on carparts/wheels/tires here's "only" the 25% tax.
But then again we pay a lot of tax and customs on the car itself.

I actually first planned to take them in via Norway, but in the end the cost wouldn't be that much less considering I would have to drive to Oslo to get them.

Yeah, I feel sorry for you that you have to pay all them taxes on the car. Finland, Norway and Denmark have them. Only Sweden is a "safezone" these days!

Wow! 25%?

We pay 13% here in Canada and I always thought that was retarded.

Agree totally! HRE's are the best of the best!!!

a fool and his money are soon parted.

fitting bigger rubber is about going over the specs for each tire. choosing fitment by tire size means nothing. you have to look at the details....not all 285's are the same....there can be variations of an inch or more of tread width. some tires have a very square profile where tread width is almost the same as section width, while others are much further apart.

Yeah....I pretend. I'm a self-admitted wheel whore who's owned multiple sets of HRE, BBS, Volk, Rays, SSR, Work, Prodrive, etc. I went through no less than a dozen sets on one car. So, clearly, I don't know what I'm talking about.

I won't even get into spending 25% of the car's cost on wheels or calling it stupid because that would be rude.

Coming up bro!

No rubbing whatsoever! The ride is so much better.

My car is getting OptiCoated so I'll probably post pics tomorrow or day after!

Love the look of the 285's in the rear!!! You'll love it too once you get yours lowered...

Sounds great. It really needs to be lowered!

I was planning it at first, but Tremolo had some issues (got the wrong parts) and yours looked so low too. Looks nice, but wouldn't be drivable with all the speed bumbs around here.

But it's either KW or Bilsteins.

I never really liked KW. Had Bilstein PSS10 on my A4 '09 and it was the best I had driven with. Drove a friends same A4 with the KW and was not to my liking. Also you have to get the wheels off and so to change damper setting?

Bilstein is easy and a quick fix, get down and turn the knob. Slightly higher price but worth is nonetheless! Doesn't goes as low as well, decent lowering to me but that is arguable

Curious to see this one lowered on the H&R springs!

Mine is lowered and I'm really enjoying it!!! My only issue is with the 20" wheels, and having the car lowered, you gotta be really careful where you drive and watch out for the tiniest of cracks in the road.

I might replace my wheels in the future with HRE's...

Here's a pic of how the 335i looks lowered on H&R Sport Springs...Will get KW or Bilstein next year!

BTW, I haven't done the alignment yet. So it's gonna be even more lower after the alignment.

I don't think alignment makes any different on ride height.
but Any sport aftermarket spring will go lower after a months or two, because the spring has settled in. then after that u can go do ur alignment

I was asked by my dealer to come back after 500 kms to get an alignment done...which will lower my car further.

The cause of your car being lower is the suspension settling...This is why they want you to wait for the alignment 500kms. Aligning the car before the suspension settles is a waste of time...unless the spring swap changes the toe angle to a significant enough degree to destroy tires really fast. Toe angle will destroy tires faster than any other angle. Best Practice is to do a quick "toe set" when you do the springs to make sure the toe isn't wacky off. Then bring the car back after a few weeks to do a proper alignment.

Alignments do NOT alter the ride heigh in 99% of passenger vehicles. (your 3 series is in this 99%)

Note - I used to do that for a living to put myself through college.
