adding advertised gains can derail the thread thats why i did not do that.
But users should feel free of posting their gains with the tunes they are using.

With piggybacks, its mostly boost. I can let you know how much boost each tune adds so you get an idea of the power increase

Never heard of it

It does not look to have connection to OBD or Canbus, so it is comparable to stage 1 tunes not JB4

Correction about the last post.
Active OBD tune locks flash counter until stock map has been re-uploaded
It also gives the user the ability to load stock map at any time

Hi,
I like Active Autowerke because it comes out of the box with the best map possible. All future upgrades are free. Amazing customer support from a company that has been an industry leader since the 1980s.

I wouldn't say you have to have tuning knowledge to raise or lower boost. Just go from stage 1 to stage 2, assuming you've got the hardware.

And with the agent device, you can switch maps while you're filling up with gas, pretty on the fly.

Just my few comments, otherwise good write up and informative thread

He's correct when you're comparing other tunes. Maybe not flash tunes per se but JB4, for example, makes it easier to tweak a smaller set of defined values to change the tune. I will say that it's technically easier to lower boost now, due to boost by gear reduction but you can't raise it without creating your own map. That being said, it still takes the cake over any piggyback, so it's not a terrible con.

I think another part of it has to do with liability. Since flash tunes are overwriting the DME, it's probably safe to leave those things disabled because people are going to mess up their cars and bypass safety features in the DME. PTF could put as many warnings as they want, make you sign a disclaimer, you name it, and people would still blow their engine and portray it as PTF's fault.
