cafd_ffffffff-255_255_255 means you corrupted CAFD. You need to inject CAFD and VO Code ECU to fix it.

And stop doing what you are doing to corrupt it...

I really don't know how this happened, I just followed a tutorial video on how to leave the start/stop button in the last position. When I finished, a message appeared saying that something had failed. I don't know what went wrong and I really wanted to find out.
Regarding the corrupted cafd, how can I install it again?
Before making any changes, can I create a "backup" of the existing files?

No Backup needed.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read (ECU) => Left-Click on desired ECU => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD from latest I-Level shown (bottom one) => Select OK => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

Hi,

Ive previously coded my G31 video in motion all was working all good until an update over the air from BMW was installed the VIM has stop working,tried to re codes the VIM but I get the CAFD file is missing also help needed thanks.

Many thanks Shawn for the reply, the initial issue has worked but the problem Im having is the missing function description does not work to allow editing.

v.5 uses same CAFD Mapping Database as v.3.7, which is from Dec 2019.

Ive just tried using FDL editor on Launcher Pro V offline loading up the Cafd file saved earlier when connected to car and the missing descriptions all show up and the options to edit was availbe too,if this is possible can I save it in the modified state and code back to car?

Yes. You can edit .ncd offline, connect to car and write save .ncd to it.

One thing bothers me why did the NCD file when connected to car didnt show up the descriptions since it was the same file I saved earlier when trying to code the VIM and I was able to view the descriptions offline,maybe I made an error somewhere possibly?
