yeah we had a woman help us out and she was actually fairly nice. we'd been car hunting for quite some time as well, so we pretty much already knew what we were going for. |

Checking in from SF. Like the OP, I was fairly active on e46fanatics back in the days. I'll be down for a meet up too. Would love to meet someone local to give me some pointers on this coding thing? I don't recall having this on the e46's.

How far are you along as far as laptop, cable and software for coding?

I would be willing to guide you...I am in San Mateo. I am not an expert, but by using cheat sheets(for the code changes) and following the instructions I coded everything I wanted using ESYS. Really easy, really. The two most important things in being safe is to have the laptop fully charged and keep the car running. You never want the coding process to be interrupted by power loss from either end.

is there anyone who'd be willing to help install? I'm a total car noob and don't trust myself giving this a try (scared of breaking tabs). |

I am about to pop mines out and wrap them in vinyl. Will let you know how it goes. Going to follow the DIY on here.

It's rather easy. Besides, chances are you won't ever put back the chrome grills anyways. If you do, you are probably selling the car so a couple broken tabs is the least of your buyer's worries. It won't affect how it's held up with so many other tabs.
