It's hard to capture the stance because it's too subtle but is fairly noticeable by eye. I really like the outcome Pics doesn't do it justice

I seen you put new wheels and tires.. Looks nice! If I wasn't going to have a more aggressive rear camber I was going with PSS. I'm skeptical on how long my rears will last with -2 degrees.

Received the pipes back today, a day early Should be able to get them installed tonight and be back on the dyno Thursday.

I have had a couple changes since my last dyno.

1 - IC
2 - Chargepipes
3 - Exhaust
4 - Suspension
5 - Wheels
EDIT FROM BELOW
6 - aFe Intake (previous using Injen)

I'm not expecting much more power but a different power curve. I'd be really happy to break 300hp

I installed the hot side pipes last night. It involves removing the IC so I had to remove the front end. As usually everything fit well and the quality is on par

I have also installed the aFe intake and am very pleased with it or the combo of installing both pieces. My butt dyno tells me there is a little more torque down low and seems to run a little smoother. I haven't really had the chance to play around so my review is very preliminary. I got the intake used from a Facebook group and the price was a steal, $100 System is in excellent shape. Only downfall is the previous owner opted for the oiled filter but for some reason had left aFe without being pre-oiled like it should be. Great news is aFe is sending me a dry filter for nothing so I will have both. I plan on running the oiled as it is more free flowing and using the dry for when the oiled is being maintained.

I know someone had mentioned the problem with the aFe intake fitting with the BMS OCC installed. The intake doesn't fit perfect but is ok for now. I had re-routed the hoses for the OCC and made it fit better than previous hose routing. I will be working with the routing some more to try and make more room for the intake. Current routing the one hose, aluminum adapter part, is rubbing on motor.

I have completed my first DIY oil change and will be replacing the spark plugs when my socket comes in. I hope it is here before Thursday so I can make it to the dyno.

aFe INTAKE TUBE INSTALLED

OCC HOSES WITH NEW ROUTING - PREVIOUSLY HOSES WERE SWAPPED - ONE IN FRONT OF THE OTHER

I made it back to the dyno today and left a little disappointed. I'm getting some hesitation higher in the rpm band. I believe this is coming from the higher mix e85 ratio. It's hard with e85 to get that maximum power mix as this ratio may not always be consistent from winter to summer time. Refineries have different mix ratios for the season. It could very well be I filled with the higher summer mix. It will take a couple tanks to get it down. I had to do the same thing last winter. I will be adding a gallon or two tomorrow to rule out this theory.

I have attached the dyno chart. The red is from last June. You can see where the hesitation kicks in. I basically pulled the same numbers but you can see how the curves have slightly changed.

I'll be back on the dyno in a couple weeks after I get the hesitation resolved.

Keep at it, you are restoring my faith in the N20 with those numbers

I was astonished at how soft the stock hot side charge tube is.... I wouldn't even call it a pipe, it's more of a hose!

Nice job f30luxline. shame the dyno run was a wash. I'm sure you'll get it there (to 300whp).

How difficult is it to remove the front end, and do you have to do that to change the IC? I have access to a lift and could get a bud to help with it, so wondering it the bumper really has to come off. I'm planning to do the IC and Charge pipes all at once.

I dumped in a couple more gallons of gas this morning and it is running better, no more hesitation.

Another issue I was having on the dyno was that it seemed as if the tranny was slipping or giving out, this does not happen on the street nor did it happen my first time. Maybe this is similar to what is mentioned in the Active8 thread with the torque lock kicking in. First time I had turned off all nannies and ran in manual shift. Since then I have coded SAT and I think it was this that was causing the problem. We tried a couple pulls in 4th and 5th.

I will do some more experimenting in 2 weeks when I'll be back on.

Exactly! I'm not sure how this hose holds up to high boost.

It's very simple to remove the front end. About 24 bolts in the wheel wells, under belly and under the hood and it comes right off. Front end must come off to install/remove IC. The upper bolts securing the IC are located behind the bumper, check out my IC install review.

Be careful if the OCC hose is bent & squeezed it might cause this hesitation on high rpm, happened to me in F10 N20 as the setup was a little different.

there is something odd BMS managed 300 whp with E85 alone and you got around 290 whp with all these mods ?!!

How does this dyno compares to dynojet? reads lower or higher or the same?

Hesitation was from a rich e85 mix. I believe Terry was FBO and e85 on the charts published making 301/351 as map 7 was used. Fred made even slightly more with very similar mods. Also all companies alike will take the best numbers for marketing which is derived from many dyno pulls.

This is a Dynojet.

I'm hoping to be back on the Dyno Thursday. I'm pretty sure I had all nannies off last dyno run but am starting to doubt myself. If these were on then this would be the culprit in the behavior I was seeing.

Isn't your Dyno on map 7 ? no man Terry was not FBO, maybe you need updated firmware. can you please send me a log of any run taken from BMS app.

I remember reading somewhere that the initial numbers released were from an aggressive map that Terry decided to dial back some. I don't believe the same map is available today, probably in the initial firmware that was released. If you notice they mentioned a mix of 50/50 which they do not recommend anymore.

As seen here from ER they are FBO and still pulled 312/355. I'm pretty certain Terry was FBO as well.
http://www.superstreetonline.com/fea...2012-bmw-328i/

I still get impressive torque numbers. I have achieved 364ft-lbs and this is more then anyone has been able to put down but my HP is lacking. Maybe if I had a "real" exhaust this might unleash some HP, who knows.

I just took series of logs last week. I did 2nd gear, 3rd gear and 2nd through 3rd gear logs. I'd be happy to send them to you via email. Everything looks good per the logs. I have firmware 6_3. Dyno has always been done on Map 7.

Upload the logs here?
Do you view them with excel or do you have to open with excel then convert into some type of graph?

I have uploaded 3 logs. Includes both excel file and jpg. The JB4 interface allows you to export in either file type. I do both when pulling logs.

That's good but you need to try the Hex.6_4 Terry sent it to me as he thought i have pwg, it has the exhaust flap control as well as some adjustment in power as far as i understand.

for your logs you need to do 3rd to 5th & as far as log it self you look like you are little under target 1 to 2 psi @ some rpm. you need to adjust settings.

of course, send me your mail but it's experimental you have to contact Terry after making a log incase it has a bug or so.

Got it, thanks!

I talked to Jon at BMS. I inquired about this new firmware and he told me to be on the look out for when it's finalized. I will be waiting until then to run this firmware but I appreciate your efforts! I will probably wait until this to get back on the dyno.

I also asked him what mods were done for this map....

http://burgertuning.com/images/dynos/n20_e85_jb4.jpg

......besides the e85 running map 7 they only had a catless DP.

This makes me believe the intake, charge pipes and IC is what is giving me the higher torque but am sacrificing horsepower. But again my last dyno run was kinda a wash.

I compared my recent logs with logs I had done when I first ran map 7 and they are very similar. Even the boost curve is similar in that it doesn't meet the target. I had also asked Jon about this and he stated it's normal depending on the load, which is what I was speculating. Possibly doing a log on an uphill would create more load and cause the boost to meet the targets.

no problem man, yea of course don't be in the beta especially when you use map7, mine had only bug after two logs Terry took care of it and car runs very good now, hmmm very odd that you lose hp, I know that for exhaust mods not fmic, intake ect.

let's wait & see next firmware.
