I think the Boxter lacks the comforts and conveniences of the 4 series, but it is a more nimble car. Then again, so is a Miata. Comes down to what mix of criteria you are looking for.
Interesting suggestion. I haven't considered the 2 series but it may be good option. Thanks!!

My 911 had nearly $25,000 in options in 2009! The big ticket items on both brands add substantial costs to the out the door price and are absolute factors in any reasonable comparison. However, things like full leather interior, sport chrono, sport exhaust, and PASM that I have in mine, make an already amazing car like the 981 pretty damn awesome if you can swing the $. Like others above who own both brands, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the 981.

I added the full leather package, auto transmission, and xenons and it was already an additional $10k. That was without any packages!! I found a 2014 leftover but the dealer would have to sell it under invoice to get me where I want payment wise. Doesn't seem like the 981 will be a feasible option this time around :/

I bought my P Car off lease. I simply can't in good conscious spend brand new 911 Porsche asking prices. Before you back away from the brand, consider going pre owned. Most of these cars have ridiculously low mileage and come with great warranties. Of course, unlike my 335i, I never USE my Porsche warranty

Can you lease a pre owned? I like getting a new car every 2-3 years for my daily driver.

How about both? Got a 2001 Boxster S used as a weekend car with 335i for DD. Used 986 prices are quite reasonable nowadays.
