Ok, I re-read it, perhaps jumped the gun slightly. Fair enough, my bad.
Yeh I'm being patient, I haven't kicked off with them and I'm not calling them every day. I was just updating the thread to keep you guys in the loop because it is you guys who have helped me with advice.

can i ask the reason why?
what does that achieve? just get it to BMW and get it scanned they will tell you if there is a problem with throttle position sensor if there are any other issues if they come back and say no all good then you know its the map. your waiting for a hail mary from DMS and it might not be coming anytime soon

I don't want to take it to BMW with a remap in place as this obviously affects the warranty. BMW may turn around and refuse a hardware issue based on it having a remap? For my own peace of mind, I'd rather take it back to BMW as a standard car.
Plus, I'm going for a refund from DMS, not a "remove, see what happens and then back and remap it again".

remap is ECU out so the warranty is void with it still on the car or not
so if its the throttle position sensor and its a simple fix you wont be going back to DMS? or wont be having a remap full stop?

I won't be gong back to DMS at all. Will I go for a remap again, I think I'll decide after having the car as standard for a while and see how it feels compared to having it remapped.

Just had a quick read of this thread and, were I in the market for a remap, I don't think I'd be rushing to pay top dollar to DMS!
I know a lot of people have had good experience with them but the customer service the OP has received appears mediocre at best. There are other people out there who offer similar gains for a lot less money so if the back-up you pay the extra for with DMS isn't actually there when you need it why use them in preference to the likes of Evolve, e-maps, Superchips, etc? |

Definitely a proximity thing, they won't want to be sending an engineer up your way until they have another map booked in for the same day. Again why I'd only go with a company with local representation, but I appreciate if they are quick to book you in when you put the $$$ down it probably feels like they're happy to be on the doorstep when required!
Your thread prompted me to drop them a line last Friday, I had a reply at 6pm asking for my availability, they had someone up on Wednesday to try another tweaked map. But then I'm only an hour from them on a clear run. I'll be honest, given the number of attempts it has taken I wouldn't be too interested in troubleshooting it in Scotland, unless they were sending up an engineer to spend the day with it to ensure it's confirmed sorted. So far so good, but it's only covered a couple of hundred miles. Definitely feels s bit pokier again, I missed the ability to get the wheels spinning a bit fingers crossed no further issues, I will report back after another week or so of driving. Hope DMS get to you and sort it soon. |

Just a quick update, they are travelling up this coming Tues/Wed, taking the remap off the car. And I have confirmed with them, for a full refund.

To bring my story to a head as well, i finally have a map that is working without issue, it's less aggressive in the mid range and power is more progressive. I'm not sure technically what they changed, but no more hesitations on cruise after about 500 miles now.
DMS have confirmed the torque curve is shallower so will feel smoother in delivery, but claim peak figures should be similar, offered to put it back on the dyno. I'll take them up on it some time, taken many many months but I'm happy with the result. |

So the agreed plan with DMS was they were coming this morning.
Got a text last night, quote; --------------- "Hi, the engineer I have booked does not have the required hardware for the job tomorrow so I need to postpone to later in the week. DMS" When later in the week? "Will confirm early tomorrow morning for you" Ok ---------------- That's the conversation via text last night. Now it's 12pm, and I haven't had a call, will phone him now.

My purpose of posting in this thread isn't to keep it alive, but mainly to document whats happening with DMS, so apologies in advance.
I have now been informed that an engineer (the one who did the remap) will be coming up to Aberdeen next Wednesday, let's see how this pans out now.
